The response to my complaint regarding Competition BMW is not factual. I sent the out of state vin verification and e check via email and overnight mail on Jan [redacted]. That gave a 10 day window to process the paperwork for the registration and license plates. Competition BMW did not file the paperwork until Jan [redacted]. I had numerous conversations with Competition BMW about the urgency of getting this accomplished. I was told that MLK holiday put them behind?I had to wait for until Jan [redacted] to receive my registration and plates. Competition BMW charged $278. The license plate fee was $75.

Since my initial response [redacted] has contacted his credit card company that was used to pay for the Ohio license plates and registration and disputed the $ 300.00 charge. I have been advised by my counsel not to respond any further pending legal action.

Review: On day of Purchase of a 2011 335i BMW Certified Pre-owned vehicle(12-**-2014) I was told I would have the second key sent overnight to me. This occurred 3 weeks later and they sent the wrong key. Still not resolved.Secondly, they charged $300 to process title and tags. I received the tags and paperwork 35 days after sale. The vehicle had to sit from 1-**-2015 until 1-**-2015 due to the 30 day temporary tags expired on the [redacted] of Jan. I could not drive the vehicle during the time between expired plates and when the new tags arrived. I called Competition BMW numerous times and I never got a confirmed answer that would resolve these issues and they never kept their promises.Desired Settlement: I should not have to pay any administration fees for the title or license plates. I had to compensate out of pocket to get to work the entire week the car sat due to no license plates.

Review: I leased a new car from North America BMW financial service through Competition BMW of Smithtown. Apart of the transaction was our prior vehicle that we traded in for our new vehicle. The prior vehicle was also a lease and was still under BMW warranty. Our agreement was that BMW accepts our car as "as is." The car was also fully covered by GEICO (our car insurance company) and was still under the full bumper to bumper warranty of BMW up to 50,000 miles or 3 years. The car was at 42.498 miles and 2 years into its lease. On the day of the swap the car was not inspected, nor were we informed of any damages. About a month later we received a bill in the mail listing "damages" such as wear and tear, broken windshield, worn tires, mechanical problems, etc. When we gave them the car, like mentioned above, the car was still under BMW warranty and fully insured by GEICO which included 0 (zero) deductible glass coverage. The day of the swap, or on any day of prior negotiation, we were told the car was excepted as is. The car was not inspected by anyone, especially not in front of us, or with our knowledge. Had the car been inspected with our knowledge we would have taken care of any supposed damages, especially the "mechanical" and "windshield." A month later we received a bill with damages that should have and could have been covered by both my insurance and BMW warranty. We are now expected to pay out of pocket to have work done that should have been covered initially.Desired Settlement: Our lease was up to 45,000 miles. When we returned the car it was at 42,498 miles. As of our agreement we should be refunded $401.00 for the unused miles. Also we request that the balance for so called damages is cleared and we are reimbursed for our unused miles.

Review: I purchased 2011 certified pre-owned BMW X5 in august of 2013, for about a year and a half every 6-8 weeks the " low oil light" would go on. First they told me the oil needs to be changed every 750miles, then they said every 1000miles. I kept the log of when the light would go on and it was every 500miles. I asked them repeadetly why is this happening, as I had X3 prior to purchasing this car and never had any " oil" issues. No one gave me a straight answer, they kept saying " there is nothing wrong". Two months ago " engine malfunction" light came on, the car drove at reduced power. I called them , brought the car in, their answer was " it was a small valve that broke, we replaced it". Four week later same problem, their answer " everything is ok", two weeks later same issue. Still no answer. In the last 2 months I brought the car in 3 times, not to mention at least 7-8 times prior to this for " low oil". A month ago they assured me that the manager ( Frank) will take a look at the car and that he will call either myself or my husband- he NEVER called us. I travel for work, and I need a reliable car, that's why I purchased another BMW. I never had any issues with my previous BMW. I believe they sold us a defected car and are now trying to cover it up. Not to mention that every time I bring the car in they charge me $50! which is outrages as I am bringing this car the same issue. PLEASE HELP.Desired Settlement: I want them to either fix the car or admit the car is faulty and replace it with a compatible car that does not have a faulty record.

At this time, I have not been contacted by Competition BMW of Smithtown regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I had put a deposit on a vehicle approximately one month ago. Due to conflicting schedules with myself and the saleswoman, I would not be able to pick up the car for at least 3 weeks. When I called to arrange delivery, the date was pushed back yet another week. Two days before delivery, the [redacted] informs me that there would be a fee for retitling the car out of state that had not been disclosed on my initial visit that could be as much as $500. After complaining about this last minute disclosure to the pre-owned car [redacted], he later called me back indicating he was canceling the sale because he didn't think the deal was going to be a "good fit".

A little background: When I first called the dealership to look at the car, I explained that I was an out of state resident and would only come to their location if there was a negotiated price completed on the phone beforehand. The new car [redacted] and I came to an agreement, and made the 130 mile round trip – the pre-owned [redacted] was not available that day. After driving a like model version of the car in question (since it was not yet prepared for sale), I placed my deposit on the car and asked the saleswoman for an invoice showing all the charges to ensure an accurate out-the-door price – there were line items for tax, tire disposal, dealer prep fee, optional dealer fee for titling documentation, but no out of state title transfer fee. In the time it took from my initial visit to the anticipated delivery date, I had many questions about the car along with stipulations including receiving past service records, having a paint micrometer available to check for previous accident history, fixing an issue around a warning light, and finally test driving the vehicle. All of these were agreed upon by [redacted], the new car [redacted].

What makes this all the more suspicious is that the day before the sale was cancelled, [redacted] had called me to confirm that I was picking up the car because there was a hot prospect who wanted to buy it. The very next call I received after that was from the [redacted] making sure I had a cashier's check and that there would also be a $500 titling fee charge above and beyond that. I called [redacted] to confirm the next morning saying this was never disclosed and asked if I could do the title transfer myself in CT to which he replied no, his outside service had to do that. Later in the morning [redacted] called saying he was canceling the deal because it wasn't going to be a "good fit." It would not surprise me one bit if the dealer received a better offer and was just looking for an excuse to cancel the deal.

I ask, who wouldn't complain about a surprise $500 fee the day before pickup?Desired Settlement: I was going to bite the titling cost, and since I already had a deposit on the vehicle, I don't see why they shouldn't go through with the deal. Paying for the car was not going to be an issue.
