Hired Competitive Edge Metal roofing to repair roof leak and paid $250.00. But still it is leaking same place and same amount of water coming in. [redacted] of Competitive Edge Roofing company came to fix my leaky roof at my commercial property at [redacted], [redacted] on 08-20-14 . He said it will cost me $250.00 to fix this problem. I keep asking him that will this take care of leaky roof. He said yes and further he added that if it does not than all you have to do is call me and I will come back and fix it . I guaranteed all my work. I am in this business for long time and I know what I am doing. But this will solve the problems. Now after first rain it started leaking same place again and now he is refuse to come back and fix the same problem. Desired SettlementSince he is refusing to fix the same problem, He needs to refund my money back so I can find someone else to fix the leaky roof and stop from furthur damage. Due to not fixing right, My ceiling is getting wet and my business tenant are getting upset. We fixed ceiling after he claimed my roof has been fixed. Now we have the same problem. He needs to refund my money plus Fixing the cost of ceiling. He just does not know what he is doing. Business Response When I first came and did an estimate for [redacted] she already had a bucket of [redacted] she had purchased from where another roofer had given her an estimate and told her that that was what she needed to put on the roof to fix the leak. I told her that we could try it and if it did not work I would have to come back and we would have to do something else. I [redacted] the roof and collected my 250 as agreed. She expects me to come back and pay to fix it out of my pocket which was not the agreement and is not my responsibility. I told her that there was no guaranteeing that it would fix her leaks but we would try it since she already had the bucket of [redacted] and she wanted to try to get out as cheap as possible, I stated to her that if it did not fix it we would have to do something else at additional cost to her. It has been over 3 weeks since I [redacted] it and I just received a call about it the day before yesterday. I talked with her maintenance man earlier yesterday and told him that I would come back today and find the leak and let them know what we needed to do to fix it. But it is not my responsibility to pay for that, I told her if the [redacted] didn't fix it we would have to do something else which is her responsibility to pay for, after I spoke with her maintenance man yesterdat she contacted me with a horrible attitude and told me that I had guaranteed her that it would not leak after [redacted] it, Noone can guarantee that your roof will not leak and that's what I told her. If I guaranteed it wouldn't leak why would I tell her if the [redacted] didn't fix it I would have to come back and we would have to do something else? doesn't make very much sense does it? After she got an attitude with me and I explained to her that I would come back and see what we needed to do to fix it and that she would have to pay for it she told me that she did not want me to come back and she would be getting someone else to do it. I told her that was fine and to please quit harassing me. I was paid $250 to [redacted] the roof and hopefully that would fix the leak and that's exactly what I did, I do not feel that she is entitled to a refund, I done what I was supposed to do for what I was paid, and I have pictures to prove it, I told her over and over that if it didn't fix the leaks we would have to do something else, she just wanted to try and take the cheap way out since she already had the [redacted] that a previous roofer recommended and it didn't fix it now she wants me to pay to fix her problems. This is a lady that wants something for nothing and I am positive that im not the first person having problems with her. I had no problem coming back and seeing what we could do I was going to come back within 24 hours of being notified which I think is excellent response time, her maintenance worker was satisfied with that and then she contacted me later in the day and got an attitude when I told her I would not be paying hundreds of dollars to fix her problem and told me not to even come back and see what I could do that she would be contacting someone else and that she would like to be refunded her 250. She stated that she was going to report me to the Revdex.com and the labor department. Told me that I didnt know what I was doing and slandering my name. She also stated that I guaranteed it wouldnt leak. If I guaranteed it wouldnt leak why would I tell her if it did leak that I would come back and see what needed to be done? Doesnt make much sense does it? I done exactly what I was supposed to do for $250 and tried to do exactly what I told her I would do if it still leaked. This is a lady that clearly wants something done for nothing and gets angry when someone wont fix her problems for her for free If you have any other questions please contact me anytime
