Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The business had contacted us and we were able to work out a resolution. They came to our property to inspect the repair on 8/19/2014 and made some minor repairs that will hopefully stop our roof from leaking in the future.
Regards,
[redacted]

The Project Manager is on vacation this week so I cannot verify what she may have told the new owner. The first fact is that warranties in this industry (insurance restoration work) do not pass to new owners. My involvement was to tell our PM that we should state that the warranty...

does not pass, but that we should go out and check to see if we can tell what the cause of the leak might be. The work that we did should not leak - chances are good that it is another source, especially considering the length of time that has passed since we repaired the roof. Our construction coordinator called the owner to go out and see the problem but the owner said he does not want us out if we are not going to fix the leak. The fact that he is taking that position does not encourage further involvement on our part. The warranty does not pass to new owners. If when we would have checked the problem and if it in fact was a fault of ours, I would make a decision to repair the problem at my expense at that time. But the investigation has to come first. The fact that we were willing to look at the problem at all means something. If the problem were some other source, at least he would have that information to move forward.

Review: We purchased the residence [redacted] PA [redacted] on 7/11/2014. The previous owner, [redacted] had a roof repair completed by Compleat Restorations under an insurance claim with [redacted] Insurance in August 2013. The company had a one year limited warranty from the completion date with this repair. The previous owner, provided myself with the information on the company and the repair. On July 27, 2014, the roof had a leak at the spot that was repaired by Compleat Restorations. We noticed water dripping from the ceiling in the laundry room. I called the company on 8/1/2014 and spoke to Tina E[redacted]. She told me she would have to check to see if the repair was covered under the warranty because the property is under different ownership. On 8/4/2014, Tina had a different gentleman call me to state that they would not honor the warranty. On 8/5/2014, our realtor, [redacted] called and spoke with Tina E[redacted]. He once again explained the situation. She agreed that the repair would be covered under the warranty and she woul dsend someone to inspect the roof by 8/7/2014 or 8/8/2014. On 8/7/2014, [redacted] once again called and spoke with Tina E[redacted], because no one had contacted myself to set up a time to inspect the roof. At this time, Tina stated that it would not be covered under the warranty. On 8/8/2014, [redacted] tried to contact the owner Cliff E[redacted] on numerous occasions but was unable to reach him.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to repair the leak in the roof at the area that they had originally fixed in 2013. I would like it covered under the original warranty from the company.
