The Project Manager is on vacation this week so I cannot verify what she may have told the new ownerThe first fact is that warranties in this industry (insurance restoration work) do not pass to new ownersMy involvement was to tell our PM that we should state that the warranty does not pass, but that we should go out and check to see if we can tell what the cause of the leak might beThe work that we did should not leak - chances are good that it is another source, especially considering the length of time that has passed since we repaired the roofOur construction coordinator called the owner to go out and see the problem but the owner said he does not want us out if we are not going to fix the leakThe fact that he is taking that position does not encourage further involvement on our partThe warranty does not pass to new ownersIf when we would have checked the problem and if it in fact was a fault of ours, I would make a decision to repair the problem at my expense at that timeBut the investigation has to come firstThe fact that we were willing to look at the problem at all means somethingIf the problem were some other source, at least he would have that information to move forward
