Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: While my husband and I do not wish to pursue this matter any further, I cannot accept this response as I not only disagree with much of the factual information in Mr [redacted] 's response but the work that was done speaks for itselfSee pictures above Sincerely, [redacted]

Tell us why here... To Whom It May Concern:This letter is in response to a complaint filed with the Revdex.com against Complete Homes Ltd by [redacted] on 10/28/2016.Ms. [redacted] contracted our company for concrete and brick masonry.  The project was scheduled to begin on...

August 10th as Ms. [redacted] states.  Unfortunately, we encountered an unforeseen structural issue with the project we were working on prior to beginning at the [redacted] residence.  I apologized to Ms. [redacted] for the delay and informed her the new start date of Monday, August 15th.  That week, demolition began. Due to the delayed start, I was unable to schedule concrete removal with the excavator and dump trailer before leaving town August 18th-22nd.  While away for the weekend, my phone was left at home.  I managed my ongoing projects by email on a computer while traveling.  Once getting back to my phone, I discovered messages sent through Facebook by Ms. [redacted].  At that time, my fiancé also received a message from a mutual friend that [redacted] was trying to reach me.  Upon knowledge of this, I responded to her immediately at 1:00 pm on August 22nd and gave her the plan for ongoing completion of her project for the remainder of the week.  At that time, Ms. [redacted] informed me there are times Thursday and Friday that will not work for her due to client appointments.  (I have all of this communication in writing if needed). As Ms. [redacted] mentions in her complaint, she runs a business out of her home and did not want work being done while clients are present.  “No disturbances or distractions.”  Going forward, sporadic client appointments during the day along with uncooperative weather for concrete and pillar work, caused several interruptions to completing the [redacted] project.  I have outlined many of these challenges below.  Sundays are a day of rest in my company and family.  All those that are weather related can be confirmed by the US Department of Commerce NOAA National Climate Data Center Global Surface Summary.  Ms. [redacted] Client appointments were received from her by text and are documented if needed:Tues 8/23:  RainThu 8/25:  AM Rain and Ms. [redacted] had client appointments 1-2, 3:30-4:30, and 5:30-6:30.  Fri 8/26:  [redacted] client appointments 1-2 and RainSat 8/27:  RainMon 8/29:  [redacted] client appointments 2-3.  Work performed until appointments and rain began at 3pmTues 8/30:  [redacted] client appointments 1-3 and RainWed 8/31:  AM Rain and [redacted] client appointments 10:30-11:30, 1-2, and 4-5Thu 9/1:  [redacted] client appointments 1-2 and 5:30-7:30Fri 9/2:  AM Rain, concrete poured in the afternoon.  Ms. [redacted] aware of the need to allow 3-4 days for concrete to set before building second pillar on top of it.Mon 9/5:  Labor DayTue 9/6:  [redacted] client appointments 2-3Wed 9/7:  [redacted] client appointments 10:30-11:30 and 1-2, RainThu 9/8:  [redacted] client appointments 1-6Fri 9/9:  Brick column completedSat 9/10:  Clean up scheduled Ms. [redacted] stated that I sent workers intermittently to complete her project.  She is correct.  As you can see, there were very few days that would allow my masons to work without interruption.  On Friday September 2nd, after pouring of the concrete, I texted Ms. [redacted] to see if she was happy with the outcome.  At 7:53 pm, she responded “Concrete looks good.  Mortar obviously needed in gaps and holes.”  At this point, I was under the impression that she we were good to move on to the final stage and she was pleased.Ms. [redacted] states there was no communication about the second pillar needing to be removed or additions to the estimate.  This is untrue.  Ms. [redacted], her husband, and myself stood on her front porch and discussed the second pillar options over a beverage.  On August 31st at 12:55pm, I texted Ms. [redacted] “I will be coming by to drop off new brick (needed to buy about 150 new ones for both columns, pretty minor for the total amount of actual brick reused).”  She acknowledges this text and gave me times I could deliver.  All of this is also documented if needed. On Saturday, September 10th at 5:24 pm, Ms. [redacted] sent me a text that she was putting together a list of things she wanted corrected.  Sunday at 12:25, she began sending over photos and items to be done.  We communicated back and forth throughout the day and I was also displeased with the outcome of some of the work performed by the contractors.  Ms. [redacted] knew I was leaving for my wedding and honeymoon the following day (September 12th) and would not be back until September 27th.  In an effort to have her concerns addressed while I was away, I scheduled and communicated the following:1.       Delivery of black dirt for fill in the flower bed (although no dirt was removed originally.)2.       I will purchase and deliver some rock to fill in the front area of concern.3.       Brick masons to return on Monday, September 12th to make noted corrections and fix the gap along the brick.4.       Wire was previously buried shallowly for electrician access.  Will bury again.5.       Where the concrete meets the wall, it is a ¾ round edger that is supposed to give you a finished look.  We also tied the slab into the garage wall and foundation with rebar throughout to make a more stable base unlike the original that we tore out.  It had nothing, no rebar or reinforcements at all.6.       Concrete mason will return to address all concerns and correct beginning Monday, September 12th.  May take most of the week if need to re-pour. Including a downspout solution.Ms. [redacted] responded to the above message stating “We have zero confidence in the concrete work getting done right so we’d like to get a second opinion.  Please do not send the same two guys for the brick work.  I’m going to walk the neighborhood to see if there are any other solutions (for the downspout).” My response was as follows: “Per your request, I have cancelled the bricklayers for today.  I understand you wanting a second opinion on the concrete.  As I mentioned, I was not pleased with certain aspects of the finish as well.  This is why I arranged to have them corrected this week.  Structurally, it is sound.  If you find a better solution for the downspout, I’m happy to explore another option.  I will email over the outstanding balance which includes the extra brick pillar and the additional brick that needed to be purchased.  I have told you I want this to be right.  That is why I arranged to have the brick and concrete corrected while I am away.  Now cancelling those two this morning, I will not have time to reschedule anything before my flight.  With the corrections that need to be made and awaiting a second opinion, I will not be delivering extra rock and dirt to fill the flower bed as they will need to be added once the concrete is done.  As you know, I will not be available from today until the 27th for my wedding.”  “It would be impossible to find two new masons for today on such short notice. The two that were there already know of my expectations on what needs to be corrected and how.”  “Please let me know how you’d like to proceed.”That was the last I heard from Ms. [redacted].  When Ms. [redacted] said she was happy with the concrete, payment in full was released to the concrete mason.  Upon completion of the brick, those masons were paid as well.  The extra brick purchase and delivery for the pillar, class 5 regrind purchase and delivery, yards of concrete and delivery, excavator rental, the dump trailer and removal of former demolition expense, etc. have all been paid for.  As of September 12th, total paid out by Complete Homes for the [redacted] project is $2,845.  This does not include unpaid personal labor hours.I am unable to accommodate the refund request.  Minus the $1800 deposit, we are currently at a loss of over $1000 plus labor and time.  I have owned and operated a residential construction company for over 10 years with no complaints on file with the Revdex.com.   I am not someone the public needs protection from as Ms.  [redacted] is claiming.  Publicly attacking my character with words like “incompetent and insincere” and stating that I should be prevented from performing any form of my trade does not provide way to an amicable resolution.  Ms. [redacted] is a therapist.  I am certain she’s had clients that may not be pleased with her work or approach.  That does not give them the right to try take away her ability to practice therapy and publicly defame her name.  As I stated to Ms. [redacted] in my final communication, I have tried to address her concerns and have them corrected.  I am sorry she is displeased with the outcome and would like to make it right through amicable communication. Kind Regards,[redacted]Complete Homes Ltd
