Review: My brother called requesting someone to open and clean our pool. Prior to calling we had removed the tarp covering our pool, set-up and hooked up the pumps. The technician came out and his job had already been done for him. He attached four ~ $.50 clamps to the hoses to ensure they stayed in place, left instructions for me to follow when the pool water level had rose to the appropriate level, collected his payment of $165 and left. My problem is now that I paid a man $165 dollars to do a job that was already done before he arrived. He still collected his payment for a full service he did not perform and left. The instructions he left with me I already found through a simple [redacted] search. The pool cleaning was not done and was advertised at an additional fee of $100/hr.When I contacted him and raised the issue, he repeatedly admitted to the bulk of his job already having been done for him before he arrived. He defended his compensation and for 15 minutes we argued back and forth before he hung up on me. This is my first summer having a pool and I wanted to hire a professional to manage the burden so that I could observe and learn from them. But what I have learned instead is that I can open a pool myself without the help of "professionals" who pray on inexperience and lethargy of their customers to build a business.I feel as though I have been suckered and swindled out of $165 hard-earned dollars. Other pool companies advertise price reductions based upon the amount of work that is already done for them when they arrive on site, but with this company, my money was taken for a service that was not provided.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded or an amount of labor equal to what I paid to clean my pool and get it summer ready. I trust people to be honest in situations like this, but the temptation to take advantage of a then-unaware but now-angry customer is unacceptable behavior from a self-purported company of professionals focused on "superior service" and "affordable rates."
