February 2017Revdex.com of StLouisRe: *** *** (complaint ***)Mr***'s wife presented on 02/09/for an eye examination and purchased two pairs ofglassesShe received the second pair of glasses fifty percent off as we do with all customers whopurchase a second pair of glasses within sixty days of the firstShe elected for Essilor'spolycarbonate lens material on both pairs and Esslor's Sharpview anti-reflective coating on onepair. On 06/24/16, she returned complaining of scratches on the lenses of one pair of her new glasses. At that time, she also expressed that she wanted Essilor's Transitions on the remade lensesTheoptician determined that the scratches were from improper cleaning and re-educated her onproper lens cleaning and remade the lenses as a one-time warrantyShe was charged, however, for the addition of Essilor's Transitions. On 09/07/16, she returned again complaining of scratches on the remade lensesThe opticiandetermined again that the scratches were from improper cleaning and involved a managerThemanager assessed the situation and empathized with the patient and decided to remake the lensesfor a final time even though this is outside of company's remake policyMrs*** was reeducatedon proper lens cleaning habits and was informed there will be no more remakes forscratches.Mrand Mrs*** were both extended courtesies and compassion beyond our company'spoliciesBetween the two of them, six remakes were providedThe products our company usesand used are of the utmost quality and made by the world's largest manufacturer of ophthalmiclensesWithout a doubt, it was the methods of cleaning that caused the scratches on these lenses, not the lack of quality of our products

Today (4/25/2016) I received a call from both the Optometrist, Dr*** and from the office manager, ***They were extremely apologetic and sincerely sorry after I informed them of my experience to resolve this issue with their office staffThey immediately fixed the bill to reflect the
original quote of $for my daughter's eye examThey also informed me they would be having a staff meeting to better educate their employees on the proper billing process/coding for future referenceI am completely satisfied with the way they handled this complaintThey were professional and understanding regarding this issueI wanted you to be aware the issue has been resolvedThank you for all of her your help with this claim*** ***

February 24, 2017Revdex.com of St. LouisRe: [redacted]Mr. [redacted] first visited our office for an eye examination and glasses on 02/09/2016. While hewas in the office, he was offered polycarbonate lenses for an additional charge. He declined andopted for a less expensive, more...

scratch-prone plastic called Essilor's CR39, commonly knownas Plastic. Mr. [redacted] was offered the opportunity to purchase lenses made of Essilor'sPolycarbonate which, due to a mandatory coating while manufacturing the lenses, are moreresistant to scratches than Essilor's CR39. He declined the upgrade to polycarbonate lenses.Additionally, he was offered a Essilor's Crizal, a premium anti-reflective coating, but opted for aless expensive, but still high quality, anti-reflective coating called Essilor's Sharpview. As withall patients, proper techniques for cleaning the lenses was reviewed with him.Mr. [redacted] returned to us shortly after receiving his new glasses on 02/23/2016 with significantscratches. The optician determined that improper cleaning caused his scratches; however, as acourtesy to Mr. [redacted], his lenses were remade at no additional charge as a one-time scratchwarranty. Mr. [redacted] was again informed about proper lens cleaning habits.Mr. [redacted] returned to us, again shortly after receiving his new lenses, on 03/18/2016 withsignificant scratches. The optician again examined the lenses and found signs of impropercleaning habits. This time he was also desiring a change in the positioning and size of his readingsegment. The optician warrantied it due to this desire to change position, and the lenses wereremade under the ninety day doctor/optician change policy. Mr. [redacted] was given acomplimentary upgrade in the size of the reading segment from a 28mm to 35mm bifocal. On 06/11/2016, Mr. [redacted] returned due to scratches on his lenses. Against office policy, Mr.[redacted] was again given yet another complimentary remake at the manager's discretion. It wasagain determined that the scratches on the lenses were from improper cleaning, and he wasprovided additional education on proper lens cleaning habits.
