This should be illegal!! First of all you are offering a service, so the wording is very wrong in your letter!! It specifically says notice sent. This is not a notice nor should it have a deadline on it. I searched high and low to find a phone number to call y'all and chew you out myself. Your letter says non- government agency but so is the federal reserve. So there is no telling who can impose fines and who can't.

Got a demanding and threatening letter in the mail to pay $94 for Labor Law Poster or be subject to $7,000 Federal Law Penalty.

This terrible it has threatening term & Fines if not sent by the deadline So glad I checked her 1st.

Compliance Poster Service Response • Sep 17, 2020

Greetings,

I hope when this message arrives everyone reading it is doing fine, I apologize for the case being closed without answer. This is not correct I responded to this case about 2 weeks ago when I received a second notice even though I did not find the first message sent, and for this I apologize even though it is out of my hands. I will make sure I take a screenshot of this repsonse incase the response does not make it again. I would like to apologize to the customer for the inconvenience this document may have caused it is in no way or form our intention. The document the customer received is a service offered it is not a mandatory bill or balance due for any business owner that would like to purchase an All-In-One Labor Law Poster. The document has disclaimers on the back and front fo the document advising the person reading it that this is a service offered by a company not affiliated with the government, and that the poster panels may be individually downloaded from the state website and printed to their liking. We also advise on the front of the document in all caps bold letter we are a NON-GOVERNMENT AGENCY, this is so before the person receieving the document opens it and sees that it is not a government document.

I do not see that Mr. ordered a poster from us if not we would be more than willing to provide him with a full refund, our company refunds customers no questions asked. If they are not satisfied with the service they may contact us at anytime and receive a full refund for the purchase. Thank you very much for your time and please feel free to offer any constructive criticism you may have to make our document better, we are open for change to prpepare our document in a clearer format. I hope you all have a great day and I will keep an eye out for the response.

Cordially,

Labor Poster Services

I have a similar experience. I received an official looking and threatening letter to pay for a poster. Fortunately, I checked with my lawyer and he informed me that the poster is not mandated by the government in contrast to what the letter claims. A poster for $94, such a rip-off.

I have recently formed a new business and received an official-looking solicitation (Record ID, bar code, bold Please Respond By, etc).

This service obviously targets newbies (like me...) by employing government style format quoting State Public Information, Federal Law, etc to literally scare someone into compliance by charging and exorbitant amount for a poster that can be bought for as little as $10, if you feel you need one (as a small business, am I really going to sue myself?).

Thanks to others for posting to confirm my suspicions. Glad I checked it out.

It is very unfortunate that you feel that way, and we would like to apologize if we caused any inconvenience. This document is in no way intended to deceive any of our customers. For this reason we have placed in capital bold letters on the front of the envelope NON-GOVERNMENT AGENCY, and we have provided on the document on both sides notices that we are a third party company and in no way affiliated with the government. Our service includes an All-In-One Labor Law Poster with year round updates, if any laws are updated or added we will replace the poster at no extra charge. With this service you will have the most updated poster all year round and we also offer full refunds no questions asked, if the poster was delivered we ask for the poster to be returned before fully refunding the customer. We are open for any suggestions you may have in order to avoid any confusion from our customers.

I received the compliance poster service letter in the mail and my scam senses when off immediately. Searching on the website and found my suspicions were correct. Thank you all who wrote the earlier posts to warn us. The address is at The UPS Store 925b Peachtree St. NE Box 501, Atlanta, GA 30309.

This is bully marketing. I just received a notice to pay $104 for a free labor law poster. Their notice is Government official looking (and I should know having for the Government for over 15 years).
Unfortunately, there is nothing to be done. Just read the fine print for anything your receive in the mail.

This company is scamming new businesses to get them to pay for employee compliance posters.
This company sent a letter to my new sole-proprietorship company stating that employee compliance posters are required by my state to be posted in the workplace. I sent a check for $94.50 to receive my poster only to find out that this is a scam - these posters can be received for free through the OSHA websites, and they're not required for my sole proprietorship. There is no means of return or reaching them to get this rectified.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund for my compliance poster since there was deception in the sales process.

I just received a letter with a document fee of $105 or $94.50. The letter looks like an official government document. I think they scour the Sec of State site looking for new unsuspecting business owners to prey upon.

The address is 3350 Riverwood Pkwy, Suite 1900; Atlanta, GA 30339, but the presorted postage says Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

When I entered the address in Google Maps it could not be found. This seems to be a MAJOR SCAM.
