Review: My dentist charged me more than they should have. I later spoke to my insurance company and they informed me that I had been overcharged and was due a refund from the dentist. I reached out to the dentist on the phone 10/*/13 (after a frustrating series of back and forth with her assistants). She insisted that everything was fine and that she would just hold onto my balance and subtract from it for future service. I told her this was not OK with me and that I would like my money back. She eventually concluded that she would give me a refund within a few days.Several days passed and I had not gotten a refund so I reached out yet again. After another frustrating series of back and forth with her assistants, the dentist called me today. It was as if we'd never spoken of this before as she again insisted that all was fine and she'd hold onto the money for us until it was all used up from future service.1 - This isn't over a huge amount of money, but nothing to scoff at and I do not consider dentists to be a substitute for a bank account.2 - She had already told me she'd give me a refund.3 - We are moving next week and will be switching dentists, so the dentist holding onto our money is NOT acceptable.Now she went on a guilt trip about how business has been hard and she doesn't have enough money to pay me back. She went on about how it wasn't much money so I shouldn't worry about it. I have sympathy for her situation, however I don't want to have to keep checking in every couple of weeks with my DENTIST to get my money back. She again told me she didn't have the money to pay me back and it would be at least a few months before she can. She pleaded with me to patiently wait for the money and I reluctantly agreed to give her 2 weeks.Desired Settlement: I'd like a full cash refund or the amount credited back to my credit card.For service done on 8/*/13.I paid $255.50.My patient responsibility was $82.20.I'm expecting a refund of $173.30.However, my wife had work done by the dentist two weeks ago and I just noticed the insurance claim is showing my patient responsibility as $108.50 for that claim. My wife didn't pay anything in person, so this can be subtracted from what they owe me.$173.30 - $108.50 = $64.80 Refund

Patient [redacted] was seen in my office and the treatment plan was made and estimated copayment of the root canal, post and crown on teeth # 8,9,10 and crown #2. Patient had come and had started treatment. Root canal was done and post on tooth # 8. He paid $255.50+89.50=344.50. Then patient called and said that he was moving east and probably will not come back. He wanted a refund however, he agreed to wait for the money to be refunded untill insurance payments were collected. Treatment was not completed. Crown was never done. I would like to get a letter of release from patient, since I have responsibility to complete this treatment. I will make a refund when a letter of release is recieved. If he wants to do this crown somewhere else then he would've had a credit to his balance. Amount of 108.50 will be credited to his wifes balance.
