Review: My brother dropped off my computer on 4/10/13 and explained it had a virus. The gentleman said he could get rid of the virus and make the computer "brand new." To us, that meant "without a virus." The man didn't explain further but asked if I needed any of the information saved. My brother called me and I said just the Word and Excel files needed to be saved. The next day the man called and asked if I had MS Suite 2010 on my computer. I said yes. He wanted the "product number." My primary residence is in Reno, NV so I didn't have that information available. I was puzzled as to why he needed that number but he said, "That's not a problem" and said goodbye. When I arrived to pick up my computer, the man said to sit down and take a test drive.(Let me make clear that I've had a virus in the past and my computer was returned to me in exactly the same state - minus the virus.)Much to my surprise and huge disappointment, my entire desktop had been erased of my reminder notices.I asked him what happened to my info and he said he didn't know.He said he must have erased it all when he cleaned it for the virus. He erased the enttire operating system and then didn't even know what operating system he erased so he installed an earlier version (2007) without telling me! I was flabbergasted. I sat down to discuss some of the issues and decided to start with the easy ones.I mentioned that the size of the icons were much tinier than they were previously. He tried and didn't even know how to change the icon size! This man is not a computer professional; he didn't know the very basics.This service was not done by a professional computer person and I didn't get what I paid for. In fact, it will cost me more time and money just to get back what he lost.Desired Settlement: Because I don't trust him to touch my computer again, I want a refund. I spoke with 2 computer professionals who assured me that what was done was incomprehensible to them and was not standard procedure. It will cost me more money and hours of my time to recustomize my operating system as it was. He demanded payment of cash only to return my computer. He may be operating under the table.
