Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below When I went to freeway Honda I specifically told them to replace the oil and to let me know if anything is needed because I drive my car on long trips throughout the mountainsAveraging each weekend trip miles in the mountainsIt is correct that I drove a little over the limit on old oil because of the dealer not resetting the oil health counter, but it is important to know that these miles where mostly climbing and such miles uses the oil life a lot more than freewaysNot being able to drive the car because of bad oil in the mountains where it is not easy to find time and oil change shop has caused damage to the engine and I believe it is the dealer fault because they didn't do a complete jobWhen I took the car to them they acknowledged that and apologized and offered %off engine replacementNow they are saying it is not their faultI see conflicted information in Freeway Honda storyI'm now fixing the car somewhere else and I expect freeway honda to pay at least part of the cost to replace my car engine because of their staff mistake Regards, [redacted]

Mr. [redacted] has done service at our facility many times.  His last oil change was done on April 14th @ 92322 miles on the odometer.  The vehicle was in recently on July 13th for a rattling noise and we offered complementary diagnosis and it was determined that it needs a new engine....

The customer is claiming that he "over drove" the car due to our technician not resetting a service light on the dash which then caused the engine damage.  There are two issues with this accusation:  First, the vehicle was in for an inspection on June 1st, and if there was an engine service light not reset, he would have asked us to do so.  Second, the odometer reading on the July 13th visit was 98175 miles (5853 miles driven since the last oil change).  This is within range of the normal 5000 to 7500 mile oil change interval recommendation.  Our Management staff is trained that in the event we do damage to a customer vehicle to take responsibility and repair the vehicle at the dealership's expense.  In this case however, the dealership did not cause the current issue with the engine of this vehicle.Regards,[redacted]General Manager

Ms. [redacted],The nature of the complaint is unclear.  Upon inspection of your file, you have a standard lease structured with Honda Financial Services.  The down payment you provided at lease signing was a total due at delivery which includes 1st payment, DMV fees, taxes and cap cost...

reduction.  No security deposit was collected.  You have an option to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease for $14370, a number set by Honda Financial Services, not the dealership.  All aquisition/disposition fees and terms of the lease are disclosed clearly on your lease agreement.  Please feel free to contact us if you need any assistance with your lease-end options.Regards,

When I went to freeway Honda I specifically told them to replace the oil and to let me know if anything is needed because I drive my car on long trips throughout the mountains. Averaging each weekend trip 600 miles in the mountains. It is correct that I drove a little over the limit on old oil because of the dealer not resetting the oil health counter, but it is important to know that these miles where mostly climbing and such miles uses the oil life a lot more than freeways. Not being able to drive the car because of bad oil in the mountains where it is not easy to find time and oil change shop has caused damage to the engine and I believe it is the dealer fault because they didn't do a complete job. When I took the car to them they acknowledged that and apologized and offered %50 off engine replacement. Now they are saying it is not their fault. I see conflicted information in Freeway Honda story. I'm now fixing the car somewhere else and I expect freeway honda to pay at least part of the cost to replace my car engine because of their staff mistake.
