Review: When I originally purchased a pair of Bear Paw boots, I was not informed by the store owner that this was a Final sale, nor was I informed that the store only has a 14 day return policy. These boots were purchased on December 8, 2015 and my daughter attempted to return them on January 2, 2015. When my daughter attempted to return the item she was turned away by the store owner who stated that she would be unwilling to assist without a receipt. Though we did not have a receipt, I did provide a bank statement that reflected the purchase. The owner stated that this would not suffice. When asked if she could look up the purchase in her system she stated that she could but that it was against her policy to do so. This policy is not posted anywhere in the store, and had I been aware of that, I would have completed my purchase at another store. My daughter tried to persuade the owner to speak to me over the phone and she refused. I then called her directly to discuss a refund or in-store credit for the item and was greeted with a very hostile and verbally abusive attitude by the store owner. As a consumer, I expected a greater level of customer service and this was not provided by the owner. While attempting to further work with the owner on this issue, I was ultimately hung up on and she has since refused to take any further phone calls regarding this issue. According to California State Law "

The policy must be displayed either at each entrance to the store, at each cash register and sales counter, on tags attached to each item, or on the company's order forms, if any. A return policy printed only on a receipt, for example, is not sufficient.

If a store violates this law (California Civil Code section 1723), the purchaser can return an item for a full refund within 30 days of purchase"

In this regard, the policy was only on the receipt and was not placed at the locations stated within the law.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome would be the full refund for the value of the item or

Exceptionally rude store owner. I would highly recommend going to a more reputable store if you plan to purchase shoes or boots. They only provide a 15 day window for returns and are u willing to work with you outside that window. When I spoke with her on the phone she was extremely rude and even hung up on me. And this is the owner. Stay Away!!
