I rarely ever complain about a business or bad experience I may have had, but I feel that it is necessary in order that I might spare another family the same disappointment and aggravation that occurred to me with a company in Marathon Florida The company I am referring to is Conch Realty a real estate company that also deals in Rental Properties for weekly vacationsIn November of my family and another family booked a bedroom vacation home for one week in July for my buddies 50th BirthdayWe had been visiting the Keys for years but decided to try Conch Realty because it seemed their prices were a little lower then we had paid in the past Big mistake! We booked the place as I said in November and exchanged the required depositAll was well until we received a e-mail after we had not heard from them regarding the remainder of money to be paidThe e-mail stated that they do apologize but the house was double booked and that the other party was grandfathered in and had been renting for yearsNeedless to say I was very upset we had been planning this trip for a long time and had spent money already in preparation for itAlso because of the amount of people involved the organizing getting everyone to take the time off for those dates it would be impossible to change themWhy would they wait moths to notify us of this mistake? Can they be that incompetent? Very unlikely what was more likely is the other party that they referred to called recently and offered more money and they took it Because of the short notice we cannot find a replacement for such a large party of people and we are now forced to cancel this trip and make other arrangements When my wife and I called to complain we were simply dismissed and the co owner Adam was as rude and sarcastic as can beThey offered us a for about the same price which made no sense and we were told that the maximum occupancy is 6! The other alternative was to refund our deposit We have since spoke with an Attorney and because they are in breech of contract we have grounds for a law suit, but why did it have to come to that? I get two weeks off from a stressful job a year all I wanted was a little break and these people stole that opportunity from meThey are in the business of providing a place of memories and fun instead they chose to add to the stress and aggravation of every day life even worse crush everyone's hopes of a time to wind down and enjoy the fruits of our hard work I Implore you not to do business with these people and find out the hard way as I did that they don't care one bit about the customer except for the ones that have been using them all alongWho get special treatment and probably slide them a little extra cash Hopefully in time it will put an end to their unethical treatment of their customers
