Review: I applied to Concordia University in [redacted] and was accepted into the undergraduate program I was not told how much my entire financial aid package would be. After I enrolled for the 2nd semester I was told that I did not have enough Financial aid to cover my semester and that I was over the allotted FA. Meaning the person that processed my aid did something incorrectly that still has not been corrected. I withdrew from classes so that I would not be charged I also spoke with advisor and management of concordia at the time regarding not being informed on all on the necessary and important issue regarding course registration and financial aid. I was told that once I unrolled I would not have any further fees to pay I have called the school numerous times about this issue within call back or explanation of why I owe 1,518.40. I did not attend the second semester and with drew as directed by my advisor. Because of my experience with Concordia they have taken all of my FA making it impossible for me to take any undergrad courses.Desired Settlement: I would like the amount of 1518.40 removed form my account and I would like a balance of zero dollars and and all corrections made to my financial Aid.

Response:
We have reviewed the complaint
and the documentation in the student's file ([redacted]). The National Student Loan Data
System (NSLDS), the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) central database for
student aid had flagged the student for aggregate loan limits. This
happens when the student is at or near limits for borrowing federal aid, which
then is verified and communicated to the student by us. The student
withdrew on September 16, 2013, which resulted in the federal requirement to
process a Return of Title IV funds. This process, commonly referred to as
an R2T4, is one which complies with the federal regulations of administering
federal student aid and does affect a student’s aid. Lastly, given the
timing of the drop the student was charged tuition for what time she attended and that is why she
carries a balance with Concordia University.
