Hello Revdex.com

Per [redacted] complaint I spoke with him late last week and he was able to email his DMV recept. In the case of out of state sales we use a company "RegUSA" they facilitate tax and registration procedurs. Part of the process is the customer has to pay estimated tax and registration fees up front. Now that we have [redacted]s recept and RegUSA's recept we are able to reconcile them. [redacted] will be recieving a check from us for $620.99 ASAP. I left a voice mail message for him a short while ago. We also sent out the tooll kit (tow hook and screw driver) last week. We had sent the out previously but [redacted] never recieved them. As far as sales tax on the extended maintance contract Colorado dose tax that contract it is not a Wisconsin issue. I am confident we have the issues resolved.

Recently I had a VERY NEGATIVE experience with the Concours Motors Service dept.
This is not the first time when I have such a bad experience with their business.
I had my Mercedes SUV in for service and they had to replace the power steering pump. and some other additional issues. After a week of driving the car, the power steering pump went bad. I'm wondering if they really fix what they claimed they did! They ridiculously OVER CHARGED ME for their sloppy work. The total dollar amount was a little over $5000.00. I don't think it should've been more than $1500.00 according with other mechanics.
ALSO STAY AWAY FROM ERIC [redacted], adviser at the Mercedes Service dept. who is THE BIGGEST [redacted] I've ever seen. He constantly LIES about everything and he quoted me with $7995.00 for a job that should be around $4500.00. The job will take about 25 hours and he would've charge me for 50 hours of work!!!
VERY BAD SERVICE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST STAY AWAY FROM CONCOURS MOTORS SERVICE!
Have no doubt that everything you'll pay is at least DOUBLE $$ amount than what you should pay!

Review: Damaged my car (mirror) during service and is now asking me to pay for fixing their accident

Situation:

Took my car in for the 90k miles service. The only issue I noted at the dealership was a slight noise in the steering and that was it. There was nothing else wrong with the car. But when I picked up my car from the dealership, my driver side mirror was damaged! It would suddenly fold up or rotate randomly while driving. I had a narrow escape from an accident as the mirror assembly closed up while I was changing lanes on 94. Needless to say that it has now become a severe safety hazard for me and my family..as it is the driver side mirror!

I informed the dealership of the problem and was assured that it would be fixed as they had seen this before. I did bring the car in and surprisingly the [redacted] did not come to work that day. So after hours of recounting what had happened I was told that they cannot fix the mirror as it would have to be replaced. For which I would need to pay $1000 as replacement charges. When asked why…the [redacted] told me that it was unintentional accident by the dealership and the mirror might have been damaged while checking it (which is part of the 90k) service. I have contacted the [redacted] emai: [redacted]) and never heard back from him.I also called up the service dept a few times and never heard back from the service representative either. Later, [redacted]) contacted me saying that they would reduce my payment to $500, to which I declined. My request to him was to please restore my car to the condition that I left it at the dealership. If there is any intentional or unintentional damage to the car mirror, then my request is to have it brought back to the state that I delivered it in …whether this requires repairing my current mirror or replacing it is fine by me (If I had taken their rental car and damaged their mirror completely by accident, I would be held accountable for getting it fixed or replacing it..and so I expect the same for my car)Desired Settlement: My only request is to have the dealership restore my car mirror in the same state in which it was when I left my car in. Which is in working condition with all buttons and functions working seamlessly. I should not have to pay for damage done to may car by the dealership wether it is intentional or accidental. Whether this is taking my current mirror and fixing it or replacing the mirror with a new mirror, I am fine with either, but it needs to be in the same condition of complete functionality.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com of Wisconsin,

Mr.. [redacted] brought in his 2007 328XI on 11/14/2014 and requested a BMW vehicle inspection. As part of the inspection (please see attached file) BMW requires the mirror system to be checked. During the inspection of the mirrors the drivers folding mirror operation was found to be inoperative. We notified Mr. [redacted] of this and presented him with a estimate to replace the defective mirror. The mirror was not damaged by the service technician during the inspection but tested for proper operation, and as part of the BMW inspection was found to be defective. This inspection of the vehicle and its components was requested by Mr. [redacted]

Mr. [redacted] was presented with a estimate of repairs to replace the mirror at $1,165.00. When Mr. [redacted] felt that it was not proper that the mirror was tested as he requested and did not respond as when he brought the vehicle in due to the testing Concours BMW offered to replace the mirror at Dealership cost of $480.00. We feel this offer is more then fair and proper.

Review: I bought a pre-owned Honda Accord from Concours on 9/29/14. The car was represented as thoroughly inspected and in excellent condition however, less than nine months later several warning lights came on and the car began running rough.

I brought it in to [redacted] Dealership for a diagnosis and they have informed me that the timing chain needs to be replaced and the cost would be $1150. According to Honda this is a component of the engine that should last the life of the vehicle. They informed me, as well as noted on the diagnostic service invoice, that the cause was prior owner lack of maintenance. They also indicated that this is something that existed at the time I bought the vehicle but could have been overlooked by Concours at inspection, therefore I shouldn’t make the assumption that Concours tried to hide it.

I emailed the [redacted] at Concours on July 10th and asked him to work with me to resolve my vehicle problem. He never responded.Desired Settlement: I would like Concours to pay for the replacement of the engine timing chain because it was defective at the time I purchased the vehicle and not revealed to me on the vehicle inspection report.

Business

Response:

This 2009 Honda Accord had a thorough state inspection done 09/05/14 by a certified Concours technician. At the time there was no warning lights or noise that would indicate anything wrong with the timing chain. The Carfax history report showed a good record of maintenance done at Honda dealerships and no accidents. Neither the vehicle inspection nor the history report signaled any abnormal wear and tear. With the lack of noise or warning lights there would be no way for a technician to tell there was anything wrong with the timing chain. That was confirmed by the Honda dealership that diagnosed the vehicle 9 months after the sale. Concours Motors does not warranty Pre-owned vehicles. Due to the lack of anything found wrong at the time of the inspection, we feel this problem occurred after the sale and will not be reimbursing for the current needed repair.

Review: 1st complaint-Purchase 2008 BMW in March 2013...Concours failed to process necessary paperwork to get title or register car. Drove around with an unregistered car for 3 months. I called about 30 times and left about 10 messages. No call back from finance manager, sales person or everybody that mattered. Finally when up there to be only told that the person is out of the office and will leave a message for them. Still no call back or title. State of Wisconsin left several messages with no call back. Finally process paper work in June 2013 still no call back of the reasons why I was left in the dar. 2nd-complaint Purchase a tire warranty which I was told will cover my tires if they need repair-negativity. Brought my car in and was told I had to pay the full price of the tire because no one submitted for the warranty. I had to pay for the tire and wait the weekend to speak with Manager.

My main complaint: Went to the get my rear tire replaced because I hit a pothole and was told that it wouldn't be replace because the tire were not new. Same tires from when I purchase the car through Concours. Then was told that they sold me the car with a bad wheel alignment and there's nothing they can do about it now.Desired Settlement: I would like for the Concours to atleast honor my warranty that they sold me for these tires. What's the point of getting a warranty for 5 years if it only covers new tires? Everything else is in the past & I'm not looking for an apology for their poor customer service or sending me on a wild goose chase. I just want my tire fixed under warranty that I paid for.

Review: I brought in my vehicle in on Wednesday, February 11 for a computer diagnostic. This service is supposed to cost $134.00 and the amount of time should not matter. I came in and your employees said that it would take about an hour. I sat in the waiting room for two hours and no one came to update me on the status of the service. Finally I became worried and contacted your service advisor, [redacted]…. [redacted] went to check on my car. After half an hour, he finally came and told me that I would have to pay $134.00 for the first hour, and I would not be charged for the second hour. However, I would have to pay another $134.00 for the third hour that the mechanic, [redacted]…, would be working. First of all, I should not be charged for the third hour. I came to your mechanics because they are professionals and are supposed to be able to figure out the problem associated with my car. It should not take more than an hour to run a computer diagnostics test and if your mechanics couldn’t figure out the problem, they should have taken a professional stand and updated me. The mechanics also should have used a different measure to try to fix my vehicles problem. I am the customer and the customer is always right. Your service advisor, [redacted], was rude and told me that he was going to take the side of the mechanic, even though I am the customer and the one paying for your service.

The following items were performed to this vehicle:

Maintenance and mechanical repair services are quite poor. I needed a thermostat during winter. Concours verbally quoted a price of approx. $50. Four trips and approx. $150 later, problem not resolved. Because my hands were crushed by a tank in Vietnam, they ache in cold weather. I bought a thermostat (approx. $8) from an auto parts store and replaced it myself...the hands suffered, but problem was solved. Because the engine ran cold, however, I had to replace approx. $175 worth of sensors. I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com and my money was eventually returned.

Review: I purchased a certified used Mercedes ML350. I purchased the vehicle in late June 2014. After five months of driving this suv the breaks and rotors needs to be replaced on this vehicle. I put almost six thousand miles on the vehicle and the front breaks and rotors should not have been and issues on this certified vehicle. I've spok to [redacted] who do not want to fix the vehicle at no charge to me. They sold me a certified used suv with bad rotors.Desired Settlement: I would like for the dealer to right their wrong. Repair the rotors and breaks on the vechicle at no charge to me

Customer purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle. This vehicle met all standards and requirements put forth by the manufacturer at the time of sale. Any wear type of component has no warranty. These items are the responsibility of the owner. If it was a component covered by the certified pre-owned coverage, it would be repaired at no charge less the applicable deductible. This information is clearly explained in the certified pre-owned documents.

Review: I had the company (Concours) perform body work following a minor collision during which, someone damaged the rear bumper and tail light of my vehicle.Prior to the repair, an individual from the body shop and I inspected the vehicle to discuss the repair work to be performed, noting other small 'chips' that I might want repaired as well (outside of the insurance claim). Prior to my service, the insurance company took pictures of the vehicle, and so did Concours. When I returned to pick up my vehicle there was significant damage to the rear passenger door (a large dent and a large scrape). Before leaving the premise (on a Saturday, July 11th). I asked for a manager. The service department was closed, and a sales manager, Todd S[redacted], inspected the vehicle, and instructed me to contact the service manager, Rachel D[redacted], the following Monday (July 13th). I did contact the service manager who provided photos taken by the company prior to performing any work on my vehicle. The damage in question is not in their photos nor is it in the photos taken by my insurance company. Concours is denying responsibility for the damage and has refused (up to this point) to make the requested repairs.Desired Settlement: I would like my vehicle repaired to its original condition at no cost (as soon as possible), and I would like a "loaner vehicle' while the car is being repaired (also at no cost) to ensure I am not further inconvenienced by this situation.

Hello Revdex.com

Review: [redacted] at concours motors sold me a 2001 Porsche Boxster. They explained to me that the vehicle was gone over thoroughly by their certified Porsche mechanics and if there was anything wrong with the vehicle, they couldn't sell it because they were a certified Porsche dealer. Wisconsin is supposed to be a "consumer protection" state so they gave me a vehicle inspection disclosure that clearly states that there is no oil leaking from the car. I would have taken the car to a neutral mechanic to have it inspected, but they assured me that this dealer wouldn't risk it's reputation by selling a lemon. WELL...after returning home, I noticed oil on my garage floor. I took the car to a local shop and was informed the the rear main seal and a valve cover gasket are leaking (over $1,000 to repair)I contacted [redacted] and he basically told me too bad,he didn't have to disclose anything that wasn't safety related. Now I have a $10,000 car sitting in my garage that I can't drive for fear of it catching on fire. Oh, and now that spring is here, the remote key no longer works (another $500). I would be very careful if you are going to shop at this dealer.Desired Settlement: I only want the vehicle repaired to the condition that [redacted] sold it to me as.

Review: I bought what I thought was an awesome 2010 bmw 335i xdrive M sport sedan from CONCOURS BMW in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I bought the car after inspecting and test driving the car in lighting conditions that masked the numerous dents in the roof panel. These dents are clearly visable when light is cast across the roof; all of which I noticed that first evening after I drove the car home to Minneapolis, Minnesota. I contacted my sales person, Dan [redacted], he said "they were not there and we will not fix them."Desired Settlement: Pay to repair roof dents at any qualified dent removal service that Concours chooses in the Minneapolis area.

HiIn response to Mr [redacted]. Our preowned process involves initial evaluation by the preowned manager who scedules needed mechanical and cosmetic work. Next our professional detailers clean inside and out then polish and bring to the attention of the preowned manager any overlooked items. When the car is sold a day or two before delivery the detailers clean and wax the car and look at it outside it is then placed in one of our dedicated indoor delivery stalls. Before the customer arives for delivery the sales person looks over the car. When Mr [redacted]s son and friend came for delivery the looked at the car inside the building and outside. Furthermore a week went by 8/7/15 8/14/15 after deliver before we were contacted. We at Concours BMW believe any roof dents accurred after the car was delivered. It is unfortunate that the car has some roof dents but we feel we are not responsible for any repairs.Sincerly[redacted]

Review: Took my car to Concours Motors (1993 Mercedes 190E) because of a leak that appeared to be oil and anti freeze. The mechanic who changes my oil thought I might need a head gasket replacement. After doing extensive research I was convinced that was the problem. The service adviser called me and said that I had transmission fluid in the coolant so I needed to replace the radiator, water pump and head gasket at a price of over $4000.00. I asked him how this could be possible on a car with only 30,000 miles. He gave me a song and dance but could not answer the question. I went to the dealership and talked to the [redacted] and the technician and asked what I had to have fixed to stop the leak which consisted of oil and anti freeze. I was told that the radiator and water pump should be replaced and that would solve the majority of the problem (might see a few drops of oil from the head gasket but no big deal.) The cost of the radiator and water pump was $2,065.00. The cost of the head gasket was $1500.00. I had the car home for a few days and noticed a large pool of anti freeze under the car. I took the car back to concours and was told the leak was from the head gasket and it was my problem because I didn't let them fix it. Bottom line is I never needed a water pump or radiator I needed a head gasket. I'm the same situation I was in before spending $2000.00 on repairs I did not need. No dought the worst car experience I have ever had in 35 years of car ownership.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the radiator and water pump so I can do the necessary repairs at a reputable garage.

Response:

On Thursday October 3rd 2013 [redacted]) wrote a repair order for his 1993 Mercedes-Benz 190E. It was to inspect for an oil leak and at his suggestion from the head gasket.

[redacted] notified him it would not be diagnosed until sometime on Friday 10/4/13.

Technician [redacted]. brought me a quote for the head gasket replacement (leaking), water pump replacement (leaking), and radiator replacement (contaminated coolant from transmission) from his diagnosis.

[redacted] contacted Mr. [redacted] by phone to explain him our findings. He was instantly very aggressive in his response to [redacted]. He stated things relating to us being dishonest and misdiagnosing his concern. He stated that other experienced mechanics already had assessed it. [redacted] tried to further explain how we came to our findings and he was argumentative and used some profanity. We ended the conversation with him returning to Concours on Monday to speak with the [redacted].

On Monday Oct 7th

The customer reviewed these repairs with the [redacted] and the technician. He stated he did not want to do all the repairs at this time, and asked which repairs would be the most needed. He was advised that the radiator was the most important at this time due to the damages that could result from the transmission fluid contaminating the engine cooling system and also the water pump replacement because there was a labor savings due to the radiator labor overlap.

The customer went over by [redacted] the [redacted] and apologized for his poor interaction with [redacted] on the phone.

He authorized the radiator and water pump replacement and would have the head gasket repairs performed at a future appointment date.

The repairs he authorized were completed on October 11 and test driven. The vehicle still had a leak from the head gasket and owner was advised of the leak and it was also noted on the repair order.

second encounter with Mr. [redacted] was when he called stating that he still had a leak from the vehicle. [redacted] reminded him that we had diagnosed three potential leaks and that he had only authorized two of the repairs. [redacted] had previously told him there was oil on our shop floor after the radiator and water pump replacement. At that time he made a comment about keeping an eye on it. He told [redacted] several times that it was an extra vehicle for him and wasn’t going to be driven much.

[redacted] asked Mr. [redacted] to return with his vehicle as soon as possible so that we could inspect the leak and address his concern. He became very agitated and began to use profane language. He told [redacted] he had talked to other mechanics and that we didn’t fix his vehicle correctly. [redacted] again asked him to return to Concours so we could inspect the work performed. He continued to argue with [redacted] about his opinion of our dealership and the repairs.

Once here he was much calmer. [redacted] opened his repair order and arranged alternate transportation.

After inspecting his vehicle, [redacted] called him regarding our findings. [redacted] explained it was the head gasket that was leaking. He once again became aggressive in his tone and language. [redacted] asked him to please return to our dealership so [redacted] could show him our findings. [redacted] explained it was oil, but he insisted it was coolant. He then continued to tell [redacted] of all the mechanics he consulted with stated that we were wrong in our diagnosis. He said they all know it was coolant and not oil. [redacted] again asked him to return to visually see his vehicle and not take the advice of others from his pictures that he took of the oil spots.

When he came back, [redacted] invited him into the shop to view his vehicle. At the start of our technician’s visual inspection he became aggressive, loud, and began to swear. [redacted] then asked him to leave the shop.

Mr. [redacted] then argued the facts of his authorization of repairs. He also began making false statement with regard to the comments [redacted] had made. This misrepresenting of [redacted]s statements continued to the conversation that included [redacted](**).

Review: I just left this place and I will never be returning. I was completely price gouged by this business. They may do good work, but I'm writing this because they COMPLETELY over-charged me for the parts they used. Some background on my repair: I have a BMW 535i, E60 series (2008). My water pump went out late at night in Oxnard, since the pumps are electric in that vehicle, the failure is almost instant...so it left me stranded. I called a tow truck the next morning and had it towed to Concours Motors. The service advisor called me and told me what it would cost, after being completely surprised by the high number and since my car was already there, I told them to start work because I'm here on business and I needed it fixed quickly. Because of the reviews I read, I thought this WAS a stand-up place. After my experience I feel completely taken advantage of.The price GOUGE!!! I'll list below the original BMW part numbers they said they installed in my vehicle. And because of what has already been done to me by this business, I'll be putting my car on a lift tomorrow (luckily I have access to one) and actually verifying they put OEM parts in my car. (Pretty sad when you feel you've been worked over so bad you feel you have to verify work you OVER-PAID for). Anyway, I digress, here's the part numbers and their cost.BMW Part # 8[redacted]4 Antifreeze Fluid / $30.50 (Concourse Cost) / $23.95 (Retail Dealer Cost)BMW Part # [redacted]76 Thermostat / $129.89 (Concourse Cost) / $118.95 (Retail Dealer Cost)BMW Part # [redacted]26 Water Pump / $729.59 (Concourse Cost) / $484.95 (Retail Dealer Cost)BMW Part # [redacted]53 Water Pump Bolt Set / $14.71 (Concourse Cost) / $8.95 (Retail Dealer Cost)BMW Part # 1[redacted]4 Expansion Tank Cap / $28.59 (Concourse Cost) / $18.95 (Retail Dealer Cost)Total Concourse Motors Parts Cost $933.28Total DEALER cost for the same exact parts $655.75, that's a difference of $277.53 which was gouged out of my bank account by this disgraceful business.Desired Settlement: I wish I could have them take the parts out and put the bad ones back in so I can have the BMW dealership fix my car instead. I just wanted to pay a fair price, and I paid WAY above fair.

Response:

I am sorry you are upset.

However, we gave you an honest price in good faith that you accepted on the spot. The price that we quoted is the price you paid, not one cent more. We were surprised that you were calling around to see if you can get a cheaper price. I am sure that you can get it done cheaper elsewhere and you will get what you pay for.

We charge what we do to be able to stay in business, deliver excellent quality service and have the expert technicians that we do. Even our Service Writers are Master Technicians.

In our industry it is all too easy to find someone who will say they could have done it cheaper. We don’t get into that.

You are right about one thing and that is that we have lots of happy customers who are happy with our service, technical expertise and attention to detail.

You are more than free and welcome to go elsewhere including the dealership and see if what they tell you on the phone is what you are actually going to pay for their service.

Sincerely,

Owner, Concours Motors
