Review: Cracked concrete within 3 months of install. No response to repair inquiries and no action taken to satisfy customer.
The concrete job that we hired this company to do was sub par and is now cracked and ruined. The contract was started in September 2012, it took two weeks to complete, when we were told it would take 1 week. When they laid out the forms before poring the concrete, I had told them that they would have to double up the support in some areas due to the ground being soft. Not until after they pored the concrete and it already hardened was there a uneven mistake in the formation, due to the lack of support. When confronting the owner of the company about this problem he said that you would hardly notice it once there was grass put in. We were not satisfied with that answer, so we asked for some money back and all he could offer was $50. Which he recouped when over charging us to do a modification that was discussed at the start of the contract for the front yard concrete. Little did we know that when this $8,000 job was complete that we would have cracks within 3 months. We have tried calling [redacted], the owner of the company, on many, many occasions but when he does answer he is just full of lies. He said he would come by and take a look at the cracks, he didn't. During the contracting stage, him and I did agree that I would build him a new website that would offset some of the cost for the concrete work. After we agreed on this, I drafted an agreement with him, which he never signed and returned, and I started to build him a website during the concrete work. Months after the website was live and the at the same time the concrete was cracking, and no responses to our calls, I took down his website. He quickly responded in an email to me with threats and cursory words. I did make his website live again, but again he did not come over and fix the cracks in the concrete job he did. I am through messing around with this person and I wish the job was never done by his company. Desired Settlement: Before I got to this this point I just wanted the cracks repaired and something figured out to prevent them from getting any bigger, now I don't want this contractor to come back at all. For this job to be repaired from another contractor, it would be $2,500 to $3,500 and it would still not look the same as the concrete that was first poured, meaning cracks will be fixed but our stamped and colored look will be noticeably different. I would like to have this amount back from Concrete Landscape Services.
