Concrete & More, Inc. Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted]
Ok. We understand. Concrete & More does not want to take responsibility for completing the job they were paid by the county to do. They also don’t want to take responsibility for degrading minority families such as ours. We NEVER admitted to continually parking on any grass. I am sorry, but parking a car for a few minutes does not damage the grass. We also NEVER admitted to having our children play in our yard. They play in the park. We also NEVER admitted to having our dogs use the bathroom in our front yard or the park. We have a back yard for that. I simply stated that PEOPLE (i.e neighbors, fellow citizens in our city) walk their dogs in the park and let their dogs use the bathroom if they need to.(and they pick it up). Concrete & More is just trying to offer excuses so that they can feel better about why our yard was NOT properly leveled before they planted grass and to why they did not return all our calls and repair our yard as per the contract within the year. We only contacted the Revdex.com because when we finally had enough of their mistreatment and their refusal to follow up on their work. The county told us to contact Concrete and more so that they would come out. They also originally told us that they would probably not put grass seed down until the ground was leveled in the spring. Concrete and More chose to just throw a little seed down and cover it with hay to be done. They had no intentions from the beginning to come back out and make sure the ground even settled or grass had grown. The point is that we asked for them to level the yard prior to the end of the 1 year agreement. They refused. We did read the contract. And yes the city /county inspected their work. But that was when the job was completed and the ground was still too hard for them to properly level the ground. It was still cold/winter, which is why the grass didn’t grow.My husband is proud to be Hispanic and takes it very offensively as do I when someone degrades him. Concrete and More should NEVER have called him an ingrate and “You People”. That is offensive as well as all the swear words they called us.WE WILL LEAVE IT AS IT IS. CONCRETE AND MORE DOES NOT RESPECT OR CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS. They can go about their business. We will repair our yard on our own since they cannot assume responsibility. All they want to do is make up excuses for why the grass did not grow. Well what about the leveling, where is their excuse?People just need to know what they are getting, when they have them do work. Just because we did not pay them and the county did does not mean they can treat us disrespectfully. They are wrong and should do something just to keep good relations with us and every other city resident. On a side note. We noticed that all the other jobs they work on, they put a sign to show they are proud of their work. They NEVER put a sign in our yard. They just came in tore up the yard/trees and left us to pick up the pieces.

The [redacted] family has admitted that they parked on the grass, let their dogs go to the bathroom on the grass and let their kids play on the grass. Yet they cannot understand why the grass is not growing. When we were hired by the county to do this job, topsoil, seed and straw had to be completed  before we could get an inspection by the county. Returning after settlement was never part of this contract. I believe the [redacted]'s need to read the contract they signed. There was never any guarantee of grass growing. We cannot control if someone waters the seed, let's their dogs go to the bathroom on it, play on it or park an auto on it.  The city of [redacted] inspected this job and so did the County. I don't think the city of [redacted] will be very happy to know that the [redacted] family is using the park as their dogs toilet. I am repulsed that the [redacted] family is bringing race into this. They should be ashamed of themselves for doing so. I also sent a copy of the warranty which is one year-and that has passed. The [redacted]'s were never our customer-we were hired by the County.

-attached is the original quote for the first project we did. It states that we will re pour concrete in the laundry room. The second quote is the scope of work to be performed for the sewer separation. It specifically states that concrete may be damaged during sewer separation. Homeowner is...

responsible for any repairs/replacement. On the bottom of this page it shows that we need to patch concrete under washer from the first project-which we did. The third is the invoice for the sewer separation that states exactly what was done. Nowhere does it state that we are replacing/repairing any concrete. I have also sent a picture of the sidewalk that they are demanding to be replaced-it is in front of the pipe sticking out by the front of house at the corner. We have fulfilled our scope of work on these projects. The homeowners called and demanded that we replace the sidewalk panel. They were rude, condescending and belligerent. They can say what they want but it doesn't mean it's true. We have done all we are going to do.

Here is my response along with pictures and documentation:We were contracted by the [redacted] County Community Development program to do a sewer separation for the [redacted] family on 2/9/16 and completed on 3/3/16.   We were the lowest bidder on this project and paid  with grant money....

The [redacted]’s contacted us in June 2016 that there was settlement and lack of grass growth in the area where we did the project. I told them that they needed  to contact the County because that is who hired us. The County asked us to go back out so we did in July 2016. About a month after this I noticed a car parked on the area that we just restored with topsoil, seed and straw. And on multiple occasions I saw their dog on the same area. Their house is on the way to our shop so we see it multiple times each and every week. Mr. [redacted] called me on 4/5/17 and demanded that we return and restore his yard. I said absolutely not-we were not returning for a third time due to their lack of maintaining their own yard-by his own admission. In his complaint he admits to parking on the grass, letting his kids play on the grass and letting his dogs go to the bathroom on the grass, yet he expects us to restore his grass. He threatened me with legal action and notifying the Revdex.com. I did call him an ingrate and he called me ghetto-not sure what that means. I did not swear at him and 90% of what he wrote-or rather-his wife- is an absolute lie. We will not be returning to their house to repair their yard and I would like an apology for the lies that they have written and for trying to tarnish my name and reputation. I have attached photos of their yard that I took on 4/6/17 and I also attached terms of the contract. Thank you. Deanna
