Conely's Custom CyclesLike to respond via the question you asked me over the telephone in regards to [redacted].[redacted] having a Masters ASE certification and...

automotive repair and small combustion engines. Also working on Harleys since the 1990's and have built bikes for customers all over the world. I would never do a complete work over on a bike even for myself or a customer's  bike and leave on a trip across the country the same day I picked it up out of the shop, absolutely ridiculous and no shop would grant that.[redacted] and her husband [redacted] came into our shop at the end of 2013 asking for some work to be done on their bikes. They were completely dissatisfied with the Sweeetwater Harley Davidson dealership that they were dealing with. If I do recall correctly that's all [redacted] would complain about is how they were overcharging her and she and her husband were storing their bikes there and they where getting  charged  $125.00 a month for each bike when they were in their hometown in Hawaii. We had talked in regards to doing some work on her bike but they were leaving on a trip and they would bring their bikes back.At this time they brought their bikes back May 1, 2014 she had also been in contact with us numerous times before bringing the bikes and we told her to make a list of items that she wanted when she came into our facility. she brought a list of things that she would like tohave had done to her motorcycle. We came to an agreement.  They then decided to drop her husband's bike off at the same time so we can do some repairs to it as well. We did The repairs that they asked for on [redacted] and [redacted]'s bikes. On [redacted]'s bike we did a lot of Custom work, which means we had to completely fabricate some parts from nothing to making and manufacturing the parts. Some of the parts that we manufactured for her by request were via a picture off of an email message. We actually had made this image three times before she approved it. At this point we knew she was going to be a difficult customer.[redacted] and [redacted] were supposed to arrive in San Diego three days prior to leaving on their trip which at that time they were told to ride their bikes around before leaving so that if there were any problems that arise we could fix them prior to them leaving. They show up the morning of the last day that we were finishing up the bikes and said that their trip had moved up and that they were leaving early because they were going to be riding out with some friends. At this point we did not recommend to them to leave on the trip and again recommended to ride the bikes around for at least one day prior to leaving that way if there's any issues we can repair it or fix it. Both bikes were completed and they were happy. They signed off, they paid for the bikes and left onto a trip that was approximately 7000+ miles. We did not hear from [redacted] until she arrived in Sturgis,SD from San Diego which is 2200 miles one way. She said that one of the latches on her husband's bike had broke and that one of the bags on hers kept coming open.  We then told her to bring the bikes  in to us so that we re repair them. She brought her bike back five months later with a list of things attached to repair. At this point, on her bike only, which was the only Bike that we seeing and we redid everything on it that she had asked us to do one more time and we did, free of charge; pictures to follow. In the meantime she is emailing and calling and emailing and calling wanting to confirm we had done everything on her bike and that when she picked up her bike she would drop of her husband's. To this day since 2014 we have still never seen her husband's bike nor any estimates of any repairs that were necessarily repaired supposedly on the trip that they were told not to take the bikes on or it would void their warranty. They were given a six-month or 6000 mile warranty on custom made manufactured parts. They read and signed it.I can provide a Harley Davidson warranty that states on a brand-new motorcycle there is 12 months or 12,000 miles. We are an independent, small shop and it is up to us to provide under California laws and express warranty, which we did. It was six months or 6000 miles on custom-made manufactured parts. There are some customers that you can make happy but some customers you can't, unfortunately. We tried our best to make her happy and we're not able to When they picked up their bikes  in October 2014 we told them that we would no longer work on her bike and that the warranty was over.  Again, they signed it and said they would bring t husband [redacted]'s bike in for the repairs on it and still have never seen it. We  have a gentleman by the name of [redacted] from the Bureau of automotive repair show up at our shop asking us information about her and her husband's bike at that time we went over the invoice's step-by-step and he was found it to be  in our favor. He also stated that Conely's Custom Cycles did everything in its power to try to make this customer happy during the warranty. Conely's Custom Cycles went above and beyond to make them happy. He also stated that we could've charged her again for the parts and labor along with the storage for us storing their bikes for six months. He also stated my invoices were done properly and that there was nothing that he could do to help her. He said he was going to close the case in our favor. We then received your phone call [redacted] at Revdex.com and per your conversation and mine [redacted] you had the same conclusion as [redacted] from the Bureau of automotive repair that Conely's Custom Cycles did everything in their power under their warranty to take care of this customer and this customer is still, to this day, unhappy. In December 2014 we received a letter via certified mail via [redacted] telling us to give her back $1000 for the stuff that she had lost going down the freeway she was giving us four days to write her a check refunding her or she was going to sue us at the end of December.  December 16, 2014; At that time once again asked her to show us receipts and a description of  parts that you say you had to replace but you did not which means you did not give us the opportunity to repair the bike and you took it to a shop that we didn't authorize to take it to. We told her to take the bikes to a friend's shop in Sturgis if she needed some repairs and he would contact us and let us know. She never took it to his shop nor did she ever provide any parts or receipts stating that the bike had been repaired somewhere else.[redacted]'s bike list of parts and repairs:We did a 10K service for $300We made a custom sissy bar three times for $250We installed a rear tire and front tire for $245She wanted a custom-made set of saddlebags for her bike for $600 installedShe wanted a custom made rear fender for $300had it painted for $200.a custom Tail light brake light combo set that she picked out.$65.00A custom air cleaner and cover to try to give her bike a little more power which was over $100 and some miscellaneous parts for another $100. dollars[redacted]s bikeHe decided he wanted a custom-made tour pack installed we quoted him $400.00 plus paint of $200He wanted a removable tour pack bracket set up so he can take it off at one point which was another $250He wanted his 10K service done as well another $300Also needed a rear tire and brakes on his bike as well proximately another $300.Powder Coating for the brackets that went on his bike was $200.At the time of the estimate we did not charge them for the locks or the hinges on the tour pack. It was an oversight on our part but we gave him those parts for freeAlso the charm pack did not come with the back pack rest and we had one there laying there at the shop and said we would give that to them for free as well. The day that they showed up we were installing it for them free of charge and gave them the part for free. The lights and the reflectors that went onto the tour pack were also given to them for free and yes those parts were being installed the day that they showed up, the day that they were leaving on their trip early, so we stopped everything we were doing in the shop to complete their bikes so that they could leave again against our better judgment. They left across the country and voided their warranty due to not riding the bikes around town prior to leaving on a 6000 mile trip. That kind of sums it upNow [redacted],  I could go on and on and on about this lady but it would just be wasting your time and mine. Just to give you an idea, she would call me at approximately 2:30 AM in the morning or send me text messages or emails all hours of the night, some phone conversations we could barely and hardly understand what she was saying. Most people that have teenage daughters definitely are going to answer the phone at 2:30 in the morning lo and behold it was [redacted] wanting to talk about more parts on her bike.
