Review: I obtained an estimate from Conestoga Valley Home Improvement (Contactor # PA [redacted]) on 7/13/12 to design and build a screened in porch for me. The contractor started the work 8/28/2012 and was completed the work on 9/28/12. He was paid in full $5670.00. He was hired to pour a concrete pad for the patio/porch and then build the screened in porch. I had surgery on 10/2/13 and was not able to use the porch until the end of March 2013. Since that time I have had to call him with complaints 6 times as the 2 screen doors will not close or lock and the one door will not open more than 1/3rd of the way over the concrete pad. He came out 3 times but has not fixed it. I have asked him to file a claim with his insurance carrier. He did but they said there is no coverage for this loss. I then asked 3 contactors to come out and give me estimates on what needs to be done. All 3 have informed me that I have a major issue as the contractor did not put the concrete slab on "footers" and that there is a good chance that the concrete has shifted and that is why the doors will not close. I was also told there is a good chance the concrete will buckle and the screened in patio will be further damaged or even collapse. I need help in getting this resolved as it has been 9 months since this was built and it is a disaster.Desired Settlement: I would like this to be corrected by the contractor, but I have concerns that he will not be able to do a satisfactory job based on his work to date. In the alternative, I would like to hire someone to fix the entire issue. My concern is that I am told the entire porch needs to be removed and redone and this will cost more than he was paid. I also had landscaping done around the porch and will also lose that money. My concern is that this is a $15,000-20,000 job to complete properly.
