Conestoga Ventures Landscaping was paid to take down 3 trees on our property. In the process they damaged 4 large bushes, hit a shed and backed their truck over a small wall. I sent the owner pictures of the damage as he requested so he could replace the bushes. I placed a follow up phone call to confirm that he would be coming back and he threatened to sue me for harassment and told me to never contact him again. Do not recommend using this company; they are recklessly dangerous. We should have researched him prior to the job, lesson learned. Not even 1 star out of 5...had to give him one to place review.

This is Conestoga Venture's M.O. They were hired by our neighbor in 2016 to take down a few trees in their backyard. In the process, they also wiped out an entire row of our evergreens, destroyed a shed and made large groove marks in our yard from the falling trees, which they dropped whole! Advice: STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. DO NOT HIRE. And Beth Kretzing, please turn them in to their insurance. We did and got a brand new shed out of it. This company doesn't know how to landscape at all!

Review: On Sept 2 2014, Conestoga Ventures Landscaping was contracted to: 1) take down 2 specified pine trees in backyard, chip & dispose of branches, leave wood lay 2) Grind the 2 pine stumps and leave clippings lay. As of Oct 21 2014, I still have an exposed portion a stump that was not fully ground down. I have multiple attempts to communicate with the business owner, Ben M[redacted], Multiple Calls to him, leaving voicemails. Multiple Text messages with no response. Last time I did speak to Ben was 10/7/2014, where he stated his stump grinder was broken and in the shop. They would rent a stump grinder and would be out that week to complete the job. I have not heard from since. I called on 10/20/2014, to avail.Desired Settlement: I want the stump ground down as originally contracted to do.

Review: I ordered three cords of firewoord from [redacted] at Conestoga Ventures Landscaping and Tree Service 08/07/2013. The details were discussed via e-mail and confirmed. Delivery occurred on 08/14/2013 with payment of $420.00 cash only. I was informed that on load from his dump truck was a cord and he delivered 3 loads. After I was able to stack all the wood I had actually only received less than 2 cords. I attempted to contact the company via phone and e-mail but no calls were returned. I have saved all e-mails pertaining to the situation as well as the voice mail confirming what is written in the e-mail.Desired Settlement: I would like the desired outcome of this complaint to be a refund of $140.00, the price of one cord or delievery of the cord of firewood I was shorted.

Review: Called ad in Advertiser for tree removal 10/7. Ad states "Free stump removal with every tree take-down. 25% off all work performed thru Oct. 30. Free Estimates. Experienced Insured". Owner came out 10/7 and quoted $450. I asked if it included stump grinding-he indicated yes but there would be an additional charge of $50 for wood chip removal. Wanted $250 to start. Job was scheduled 10/l6. On 10/12, after 2 rain days, as I was working in basement, I heard this commotion and found him on my lawn with heavy equip. and was removing the tree. I told him ground was too soft, he indicated rain backed him up and continued. Took limbs down and left, 2-man crew did clean up. When he returned 10/13 for cutting of trunk, I pointed out damage to lawn, dented window sill flashing and azaleas. He said "you always have damage with tree removal". He cut trunk and left. He returned in p.m with lady friend (helper) to cut up and remove trunk. Returned l0/14 with lady friend for stump grinding, asked for balance of money.($250)I asked if he ground stump deep enough-"told me you only go 4"." He said he will return in a.m (10/15)to repair lightpost top which he removed and in the process broke wire, and bolts-did not show. Sent man out 10/21 who fixed wires only (top sitting on pole not fastened). When he finished grinding (10/14) he said he could grade, add top soil, plant seed for $100-I also asked him to repair lawn damage done by equip. at that time. I feel the lawn repair should have been his responsibility to begin with. My daughter called 10/21 and asked why job wasn't finished - he said too busy but promised before 10/24. He was also called 10/23 and message left - did not return call. Another tree co. who happened to be in the area was contacted and they finished the stump grinding at a cost of $50 but we still have to remove the wood chips. I feel as a female senior citizen I have been taken advantage of and would not recommend this company to anyone. He took his money and ran.Desired Settlement: I think I am due a refund for the wood chip removal I paid him ($50) and the additional $50 I paid to have the stump grinding done. The wood chips he removed for $50 was minimal - done by shovelfuls onto flatbed. As far as the balance of wood chip removal, lawn repair and lightpost bolts, etc. - I haven't a clue as to what those charges will be. I do not want this company to step foot on my property again.

Subject: Re: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of Metro Washington DC & Eastern Pennsylvania in regards to your complaint #[redacted].

There was no paper work involved. All I had was an advertisement in our local Advertiser Newspaper which I quoted in my complaint.

Review: He was hired to grind down 3 stumps and then clean up all the debris from property. He asked for a check before he even started the job and then did not grind down stumps below ground level 12 inches as discussed, also did not clean up the mulch not only from the actual stump but did not blow off the driveway, porch etc and pushed mulch over stump that was left to hide it and left. My husband went out racked it up and it was obviously not done called him to come back and after saying we would stop payment on the second check( he had already cashed the first one) then he came back. He ground down a little bit more but complained the whole time, when I said it still was not below ground level he said he wasn't doing it anymore then that. I said thats not what we agreed on and he got loud and beligerent. My husband said you need to do the job we paid you for and he got in his face I yelled I was calling the police and my husband told him to leave the property. The stumps are still not below ground level, he did not clean up not only my property but both my neighbors again! We took pictures and my husband at least cleaned up neighbor properties and our driveway, walkways.etc.Desired Settlement: We wrote a check for $350.00 that he had already cashed, and a second one for $200.00. I did try to stop payment for the second check but the worker claims he already cashed it. So if both checks cashed I would like full reimbursement plus the stop payment fee of $30.00. Not to mention now we have to find someone to finish the job and clean up my yard.

I got you email and the business did not offer no paper work at all. Did not offer a receipt. All was a verbal conversation, with a verbal quote.

Any more questions you can call or email me. Thank you

Review: Payment was made for tree removal and removal of a swing set. The tree removal was performed but the swing set removal was not completed. Conestoga Ventures refused to return my calls or refund the portion of the non-completed work.Desired Settlement: Complete the work or refund the portion of the work not performed $100.00.

Review: Contracted with this business (through [redacted]). Advertised at $15.00 per hour. Met with owner and went through all issues we wanted done. Was quoted a total price of $500.00. Accepted price because I thought it would be a several day job with several employees (as stated in ad). 1 employee was here total of 2 hours in the a.m. Another single employee was here in the afternoon for total of 3 hours. Called owner to remind him of several issues that were not taken care of. Employee returned next morning and took care of some of the issues. Pricing this job at the advertised $15.00 per hour does not work out. We did have a very small area mulched and our driveway sprayed for weeds. Still cannot comprehend cost. Called owner for explaination. Owner told me "you got your money's worth" and then hung up on me. Owner cashed checked prior to us inspecting the job.Desired Settlement: Would request 1/2 the price refunded. $250.00
