Connected Contracting & Home Repair Reviews (2)

We had met with this client and the agent representing them at the home to address any concerns that had regarding their deckDuring my initial conversations first with their agent, I expressed my concerns at that time that we were asked to additional work that was not requested on their original inspection noticeI will address each item presented in the complaint:1) The light that he speaks of was shown to me upon meeting with himI explained to him that it was not on my list of repairs to be made At the time he had accepted my response and I advised him to contact his agent if he did request, but we were not paid for this repair.2) Unless he has a receipt saying otherwise, we did not install any fans in regards to the inspection repairs we made, therefore I see this claim as unfoundedIf he had installed fans, this was never brought to our attention at any time.3) We had discussed the railing during our meeting with his agentThis railing was installed per a relocation inspectionI advised him at that time that we would secure this railing as much as possible, but since it had to be installed on a set of steps made of landscape block I was unsure how secure we could get themSince they were not asked for on his repair requests, he made it clear to me at that time that he was not concerned with it and would likely remove them anyway.4) Upon meeting with this client to address any concerns, the only item that had remained to be addressed per the client was the deck railing, which he felt needed to be secured more than it wasWe did return as I had agreed to secure the deck railing, and after this repair was made we did not receive ANY emails or phone calls regarding any concernsWhile I do admit they we had some communication problems early on, I did start communications via email and through their agentBefore meeting with the client to address concerns, I made it clear to the agent that we were being asked by her client to repair items we were not contracted to perform, and regarding the deck railings I felt the client was being unreasonable as we had tightened the stair railings pretty secure and a little movement in wood railings is normal, and my concern was that no matter what I did her client would not be satisfied.5) I am unaware that any dust or wood was left un cleaned as client never complained directly to me, this is the first I have heard of it year laterIf this had been the case, I would have made sure to express my apologies and work to correct the situationI was aware of the extra bag of concrete that was left, but it was my recollection that the client stated he would use itI am also unaware of any cigarette butts left by my crews, but again if that was the case, he did not inform me so that I could correct the situation at that time

inspection notice. I will address each item presented in the complaint:1) The light that he speaks of was shown to me upon meeting with him. I explained to him that it was not on my list of repairs to be made . At the time he had accepted my response and I advised him to contact his agent if he did request, but we were not paid for this repair.2) Unless he has a receipt saying otherwise, we did not install any fans in regards to the inspection repairs we made, therefore I see this claim as unfounded. If he had installed fans, this was never brought to our attention at any time.3) We had discussed the railing during our meeting with his agent. This railing was installed per a relocation inspection. I advised him at that time that we would secure this railing as much as possible, but since it had to be installed on a set of steps made of landscape block I was unsure how secure we could get them. Since they were not asked for on his repair requests, he made it clear to me at that time that he was not concerned with it and would likely remove them anyway.4) Upon meeting with this client to address any concerns, the only item that had remained to be addressed per the client was the deck railing, which he felt needed to be secured more than it was. We did return as I had agreed to secure the deck railing, and after this repair was made we did not receive ANY emails or phone calls regarding any concerns. While I do admit they we had some communication problems early on, I did start communications via email and through their agent. Before meeting with the client to address concerns, I made it clear to the agent that we were being asked by her client to repair items we were not contracted to perform, and regarding the deck railings I felt the client was being unreasonable as we had tightened the stair railings pretty secure and a little movement in wood railings is normal, and my concern was that no matter what I did her client would not be satisfied.5) I am unaware that any dust or wood was left un cleaned as client never complained directly to me, this is the first I have heard of it 1 year later. If this had been the case, I would have made sure to express my apologies and work to correct the situation. I was aware of the extra bag of concrete that was left, but it was my recollection that the client stated he would use it. I am also unaware of any cigarette butts left by my crews, but again if that was the case, he did not inform me so that I could correct the situation at that time.
