On May 3, 2008, my husband and I purchased approximately $10,000 in appliances from CAFD OF Southington. We have already had to replace our microwave, have needed service for our washer and dryer, as well as our dishwasher. Yesterday our washing machine stopped working. All of these appliances are purported to be excellent. The brands we chose were [redacted], and [redacted]. Each time we called CAFD we were told the appliances were past warranty. The only company that helped us was *E, when we contacted them directly. ** replaced our microwave with minimal cost. Now we are told that it would cost $1,000 to fix the washer. There are only the two of us in our home so our appliances have been used minimally. We feel we were sold faulty products and have received no consideration from CAFD. We will never deal with them again and will be sure to advise others not to use this company. We are middle America and cannot afford to lose money on these purchases. Tom and Terri S[redacted]

I highly recommend CAFD. I know I will use them again in the future for all my appliance needs. I worked with Danica C, and was very impressed with her personableness, her enthusiasm, and the quality and professionalism of the service I received. She was willing to go the extra mile to find something that worked for me. I had a space that a new refrigerator had to fit into, that had limiting dimensions. Most current models were too big, so there was not an easy solution. Other appliance stores that I went to were not interested in spending the time to do the research necessary to find an appropriate solution. Danica and Kathy scoured a number a data bases and found a beautiful model that fits perfectly. It's in my kitchen now - it looks great and is working beautifully. CAFD also has a beautiful showroom with extensive choices and designs. I will recommend CAFD without reservation to my friends.

Took delivery of six ** profile appliances from CAFD today. This has been a journey. From the first apt with John G[redacted] set up through my contractor, to the highly professional approach of the delivery persons, this is by far the best experience I have ever had with a purchase of this type. I don't know why anyone would ever buy appliances at a big box store. They make you feel important with the personal touch that means a lot these days. Lots of great advice and guidance. I know they will be there if I need them after the sale. And did I mention competitive pricing. They have it all.

Hi [redacted] Hope all is well. I am writing to you regarding [redacted], ([redacted]). I wanted to let you know that I reached out and was working with [redacted] Son-in-law. This blower was finally finished installed and is working in proper order. I also reimbursed...

the client the amount of the blower. I just got off the phone with the client and confirmed that everything was done to his satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything that I need to do.   Sisto S[redacted] Operations Manager Connecticut Appliance and Fireplace [redacted] ###-###-####

Review: I bought a wood stove with blower after doing extensive research and found CAFD had a great price. After purchasing the stove I found out the installation was a separate fee, not included in the estimate. I paid for the installation and when the stove was being delivered found out the blower was "back-ordered". No one from the store bothered to tell me that in advance and it was paid in full that day. Two weeks later still no blower. I called the store, it took 7 1/2 hours for someone to get back to me to say they did not realize the blower was back ordered and it would be at least another week. After admitting their error, they made no effort to make me satisfied. Now, two weeks later, I had to call again. Today they said they called and tried to have it over-nighted but it is still back-ordered. This is ridiculous. I am 95 years old and am beginning to think this is fraud on the elderly. No effort has been made to satisfy this problem. I am out the money and have no hope of receiving the missing blower.Desired Settlement: I would like the blower which I ordered and paid for and compensation for the ridiculous lack of customer service. I also would like to make sure in the future customers receive proper communications from this company.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. It was ridiculous that it took so long to come to a simple customer service response.
