Review: The previous owners name is on the title. Quote from the State of Connecticut " We need to investigate this. " to make a long story short they feel it is taking to much time. Catic will take your money but if you have problems they have the right to take there time and maybe do nothing.Desired Settlement: Would love to have another title company.

The matter referred to in this complaint is resolved.

The facts of the matter were that Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (CATIC), through its agent, issued an owner title insurance policy to [redacted] ("Mr. [redacted]") regarding his interest in [redacted] (the "Property") for his purchase on July 13, 2006.

In May of 2013 Mr. [redacted] refinanced his mortgage. At that time, a title search disclosed that the deed into him for the property incorrectly listed the seller's name, [redacted], as the buyer of the property.

CATIC, in standard industry practice, issued a letter of indemnification to [redacted] Company to allow them to proceed with the refinance of Mr. [redacted]. As part of this agreement we agreed to undertake the repair of the error.

In accordance with the terms of the indemnification agreement, we located and contacted [redacted] and provided her with a new deed to execute and return to us.

While Ms. [redacted] agreed to sign the deed and return it to us, she failed to do so despite repeated follow-ups on our part. This, too, is not an unusual occurrence in this type of claim. We eventually secured her cooperation and she signed the corrective deed which has been recorded.

When notified of the title issue, CATIC facilitated Mr. [redacted]'s refinance transaction and diligently follow-up and accomplished the corrective action necessary to perfect the title to the property.
