Connecticut Avenue Amoco Reviews (1)

Review: I changed my window wiper on driver’s side at Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. When I start using it, I noticed that it scratches the window. At first I thought it was dirty and I was trying to clean it, then I noticed that with each try it was getting worth and worth. I drove to the Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. as soon as possible, and explained to the person who was serving me that I changed my window blade here few days ago, and it seems there is something wrong with it since I am getting this scratch on my window. His answer was that there is nothing wrong with the window blade and probably something was caught in there that caused the scratch. Ok, I didn’t argue, maybe. Against my own judgment, I left thinking the problem is solved since I don’t see anything caught in there. Unfortunately, the employee didn’t not bother to double check the wiper blade that was in faults in this case. It was worn wiper blade that was causing the scratch. And the following day or next there was a heavy rain and I was forced to use the wiper blades and the scratch became more visible and obvious. I returned and spoke to the employee (sorry I don’t remember their names, I do remember [redacted], but I am not sure if he is the one who changed my wiper blade and he is the person I spoke to on one my trips to the station) at the Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. again, and the answer was the same, there is nothing wrong with the wiper. Then I went to the [redacted] Auto Mall for service, and I asked about the scratch, what could have caused it, and the answer was straight and definite “the wiper blade”, they even showed me the metals that the wiper blade installed by the Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. had that caused the scratch. I was at the Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. several times talking to different employees, explaining what happened. It looks like they finally were able to see the problem but didn’t comment on it openly, but suggested that I speak to the manager and make sure I have a receipt. It was difficult to get in touch with the manager, since his working hours were in conflict with my availability. Finally, when I got a chance to see him, he dismissed me completely, it is not their fault, and there is nothing wrong with the wiper blade. I still have the wiper blade, the receipt from the store to support the service purchased and a note from my car service provider [redacted] Auto Mall about the scratch that reads “Note: Found Windshield scratched from Center Section Of A Worn Wiper Blade. Only way to fix/repair is to replace it.” The scratch is on the driver’s side and it is a destruction to driver’s view, so hereby I would kindly ask that Connecticut Ave. Amoco, Inc. repair the windshield at their earliest convenience. Note: I am scheduled for car inspection at the end of this month, and I don’t this scratch to become an issue for me.

Thank you for time and consideration.

Sincerely,

**Desired Settlement: Repair or replace windshield

Response:

**. [redacted] states the wiper blade that is 99% rubber and plastic with four pieces of metal (that are not able to touch a surface) has ruined her windshield ?

We did look at it and showed her that no metal was touching the windshield

I am not sure what the dealer saw that we did not

If in fact the EURO blade we sold her did do this the company we purchase them from will deal with a window issue

We did contact the supplier and he also was confused ,this would be the first time this would have happened

Old style blades were made of over 90% metal and while we do stock them we sell less than 5%

We have been selling the new style blades (EURO) for over 5 years for the reason that **. [redacted] has stated

I believe she spoke with [redacted] (installer) [redacted] the first time and yes she spoke with me and none of us found a problem with the blade

She can call me at ###-###-#### and we can set up a time for her to meet with my supplier and myself on a Tuesday while he is here!If he finds the fault to be from the blade then lm sure it will be taken care of by one of us

Thank you,

Consumer
