Review: On 12 December 2014, my son needed after-hours medical care for a sports injury. We used OrthoNow, an emergency, walk-in care division of CT Orthopaedic Specialists. Instead of billing as "Emergency or walk-in care" we were billed for a "specialist" visit. Our insurance declined to pay the bill as their was no referral for the "specialist" visit. Numerous calls to our insurance company, PCM, and OrthoNow failed to resolve the situation. OrthoNow's advertising clearly states they are an emergency, walk-in care facility, yet they refuse to bill the care as such. IN attempts to gather more information and resolve this issue, messages were left with OrthoNow's answering service in June and July 2015, , yet there was never any reply from OrthoNow. We paid the bill after OrthoNow's threats that the account would be turned over to a collection agency. Additional calls and messages to OrthoNow were left unreturned.Desired Settlement: Correct billing of the emergency visit as "emergency" care to our insurance company. Return of any monies owed to us.
