Currently my bank account with Sussex Bank is being charged for transactions that I have not authorizedI have asked them to freeze my account from anymore unauthorized charges being madeI have had to previously replace different debit cards due to similar fraudulent activityMy current debit was put into a shredder and thrown outI am unable reach the businesses for answers on why I am being charged or for them to reimburse my accountThis is causing financial strain and my bank is doing nothing to help

The Company has not responded to my repeated requests for refund of a back ground check for an a rental property they did not provide.On 5/29/13, I submitted a rental application on-line and paid $35 for a background check for a rental property. On 6/3/13, I called and spoke to the company rep and she stated she had received my application. I spoke again with the company rep on 6/7, asking for a status of my application. The rep stated the background check was approved and she was just waiting for the property owner to review my application. The rep stated she would call me once she heard anything. My requested move date was 6/14/13. I received a call on 6/26/13(2 1/2 weeks later from our last conversation) from the company rep advising me that the property owners had decided to withdraw the property from rental and rent to their family. I requested a refund of $35 for the background check that I submitted with the application for that property. I also advised the rep that since I had not received any call back on the rental, I looked for another rental property and had paid another $35 for a background check and put a deposit on another property with a move in date of 7/15/13. The rep stated she would forward my request for refund to the company owner for reimbursement. On 7/1/13, I mailed a letter to the company owner outlining my conversation with the Company rep. On 7/18/13, I emailed a copy of the letter to the company owner requesting a response to my letter. I still have not received a response back regarding my refund.Desired SettlementI am requesting a refund of $35 for the background check which was approved. However, the Company did not rent me the property due to the property owners withdrawing the rental. If the property management company had to get concurrence from the property owners before they rent their properties, the Company should have told me that and should not have submitted my funds for a background check until AFTER they obtained approval to rent the property to me from the property owners. As a consequence, I had to pay another $35 for a background check to rent another rental property. Business Response Our application fees are a non refundable fee and it is labeled on the application visible at the following link; http://connellync.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/NewestAppSept25.2013.docx.pdf. We are charged for each credit report and criminal background check. At the time Ms. [redacted] was called back and told the property was no longer available. She was offered other available properties managed by Connelly Properties, LLC. She had responded that she had found something else to rent. In this particular instance, the application was submitted online and Ms. [redacted] approved the charges by clicking a button for approval. The language for the approval states; CREDIT CARD CHARGE AUTHORIZATION BY selecting the amount below that corresponds with my rental application and any addition add-on's selected, I hereby authorize [redacted] LLC, and its agents to charge the above credit card a non-refundable application fee along with any items selected below to complete my Resident Research Background Check Report for Connelly Properties, LLC. The consent paperwork is on file at our office and Ms. [redacted] is welcome to come by our office to see the authorization of the non refundable application fee. The report is automatically generated once the applicant approves the $35 charge. There is no way for us to stop the report.

Connelly properties told us that we could move in with pro rated rent. When we arrived to the place they told us we had to pay full rent. Connelly properties told us that we could move in with pro rated rent. We go up there and they told us we had to pay full rent. A lease was signed for a date but we couldn't move in that day because it wasn't ready. Along with this we had to pay electric and they are using our power. We only get paid every two weeks and by the time we get paid the rent will be due. What can we do about our situation. Desired SettlementWe want to change the date on our lease but they refused Business Response I was out of the office on Friday and was not able to speak with the tenants regarding this issue. The tenant signed a lease agreement to move into the unit on 5/1/15. The tenant showed up on 5/15/2015 to show the utility services were on and did not have the money to pay the rent. The tenant was informed that a water leak had occurred in the past couple days. We immediately sent over a restoration company to extract the water, treat the affected areas, and install dehumidifiers. The tenants were notified that the apartment would be ready to be moved into unit this week, 5/18-5/22. They were to receive a phone call today to notify them that we will be changing the lease date to 5/21/2015 and they will not be responsible for the full month, only from 5/21/2015-5/31/2015.
