Ms. [redacted] brought her car in for four replacement tires. Our tire guys replaced the tires on the car with the same size that was already on the car. This is our typical policy as factory settings on tires do not reflect entirely what we are supposed to put on the rims that are currently...

installed. This is because at times modifications or preference may be made against what is in the factory handbook. We replaced Ms. [redacted]'s old tires with the same size tires size 205/60/R16. This was a viable size for the car Ms. [redacted] was driving and everything fit properly. She returned two days later with a complaint that the tire size was too big for her car in her opinion and explained to us that she wanted the factory size tire. We were happy to fix this. We looked up the tire size only to realize that this tire size is not available for purchase from any of our 4 tire suppliers or any other supplier in the United States that we could find. This explains why the old tires on Ms. [redacted]'s car were put on because this tire is not available anywhere. The previous tires were installed with this knowledge. The tire we then had put on was the best option in this case. If we went any smaller it would have been a danger to the customer and her car. In tires it is always acceptable to put on a slightly larger tire but not a smaller one. If Ms. [redacted] would like us to put a smaller one on we will be happy to do that free of charge with the understanding that we are in no way liable for any damage that will cause to her car. We DO NOT recommend putting a smaller tire on her car whatsoever. We do want our customers to be happy with all of the work that we do, but we also have certain limitations and this particular tire is an example of that.
