Conroy Moving & Storage Reviews (4)

[redacted] Please be advised that I am still awaiting contract from Copnroy Movers and Storage's insurance adjuster I would welcome the opportunity to talk with or have an adjuster visit, or at least send the photographs taken of the damages to my furniture. My complaint to the Revdex.com is twofold:to seek reparation for damaged and missing items and the time it took to repair and restore them,to advise the Revdex.com that not only was my furniture mishandled but the process was as well and for the following reasons:- No DOT pamphlet on my rights and responsibilities was sent to me.- No contract was ever sent.- No estimate was ever quoted, written, or sent.- No inventory of the shipment was ever made.- Payment was demanded in full BEFORE the load would be shipped.I would be glad to send the Revdex.com the photographs that I took the day my furnishings arrived.Thank you.Sincerely, [redacted]

[redacted] contacted me on June 13th and we are in the process of submitting a claim form We will process this for Mrs [redacted] ASAP

With regard to the complaint by Ms [redacted] , we have filed a claim with our insurance company and they are in the process of having their insurance claim adjuster investigate the claim We are working to resolve this issue ASAP It is my personal and professional opinion that Ms [redacted] overreacted and greatly exaggerated the value of the furniture and the amount she is due The claims adjuster is in the process of investigating the claim and this process takes time, especially since the HHG (household goods) were loaded from my warehouse in the exact condition in which they were received: additionally, their are other parties involved in the move process who may need to get involved. We, at C [redacted] Moving and Storage Inc, have an exemplary reputation moving and storing our customers in NW Colorado since We move 400-customers every year, in one capacity or another, without complaint and have not had a claim for damaged long-haul furniture in over years It has been, and remains, our goal to provide our customers with the best moving and/or storage experience possible

[redacted] Dear ***, Below please find a summary of the events that have occurred recently on my dispute claim.JUNE 18: Scott L***, owner of Conroy Moving and Storage, notified the Revdex.com that he was submitting a claim to his insurance company, [redacted] ***.JUNE 21: I received an email from Scott with a claim form attached.JUNE 28: Went to a printing place to print, complete, and mail the insurance claim form to [redacted] I also had printed and attached a copy of the document, 'move to florida' that I had sent to Scott initially and later to the Revdex.com.JULY 8: [redacted] , Claim Examiner for ***, called me and listened to my description of the entire move situation She commented that it was unusual to receive a claim form from a claimant rather than the insured She said that she would contact the insured for more details.JULY 9: Had a copy made and mailed the spreadsheet of damages and losses to [redacted] , ***.JULY 14: Received notification by letter from [redacted] that she was opening a file; the Claim # was [redacted] .JULY 28: Called and left a message requesting an update from [redacted] .JULY 29: [redacted] returned my call and said that she had received through Conroy Moving's insurance broker a copy of the bill of lading in regard to my move She stated that critical information had been omitted on the form without which she could not move forward with the claim She noted that an illegible signature on the CUSTOMER line was on the form I reminded her that I was already in Florida, and my friend who was helping me with the move had signed no paperwork whatsoever, and I speculated that that Bill of Lading was written after the fact because part of my complaint was that I had received NO paperwork associated with the move She said that she had tried unsuccessfully to contact MrL [redacted] by phone and email, and to date, no response had been received from the insuredShe explained that since vital information was missing, she could only compensate me $.60/pound on the damaged goods For example, the antique dining room chair that had sustained a broken slat with a piece of that slat missing so it could not be re-glued, and also had several scrapes, would only be compensated $when I was asking, per my spreadsheet, to recoup $to replace the chair She said that the information not provided on the Bill of Lading pertained to the extent of the mover's liability in the event of a loss Since that information was not on the bill of lading, the insured had not complied with the terms of his policy, so the best the insurance company could do was $.60/pound She stated that she was still trying to get in touch with MrL [redacted] to try to obtain additional information, but he was not replying to her messages She will send me a copy of the form and advise me if MrL [redacted] provides her with additional information.AUGUST 1: I received a copy of the Bill of Lading from [redacted] .AUGUST 3: My friend and helpmate with the move, [redacted] , arrived in Florida for a visit I showed her the Bill of Lading sent to me by the insurance company, and she was livid because she stated adamantly that she had NOT signed that form She noted that it appeared that her name was even spelled wrong.AUGUST 13: I called and left a voice mail message for [redacted] reporting that [redacted] had NOT signed that form or any forms related to my move.AUGUST 18: I called [redacted] and left a message asking for an update She returned my call later this day and said that there was nothing the insurance company could do for me because vital information was not provided by the insured, Conroy Moving and Storage, "due to policy provisions" that would base a settlement on the mover's evaluation of the merchandise, which was not provided on the Bill of Lading She said that the most her company could do was $550, which could not be compensated to me because it was grossly under the insured's deductible I asked her to send me a letter to that effect so I could take other action, and she said she would not do that because she was only authorized to say to a claimant, "due to policy provisionscould lose her job, and she "would not throw her insured under the bus." She suggested that I seek help from an arbitrator through protectyourmove.gov I reminded her that I had already been in contact with the Revdex.com, and she agreed that I should update the Revdex.com about the insurance company's inability to settle the claim due to the lack of information provided by the insured.AUGUST 19: I called the Revdex.com and left a voice mail for [redacted] ***, who would be out of the office until August 25th.AUGUST 26: Received a voice mail message from [redacted] to put the updated information into an emailAUGUST 30: Sending an update to the Revdex.com Please note that from the onset of my complaint, I have been stating that my claim was twofold: to seek recompense for lost and damaged items and to report poor business practices to the Revdex.com, including that I never received ANY paperwork regarding this move, which is against the law; that I was required to pay for the move before my furniture would be sent, which is not proper procedure, and now to report that a false, after-the-fact Bill of Lading was submitted to the insured's insurance company of which I never received a copy AND that the form was falsely signed--my friend's signature was forged.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely, [redacted]
