Consumer stated that the work has not been inspected since the business was there. However, the business left an extension cord as the connection for the sump pump. The consumer had a third-party electrician out and he didn't know how the problem would be solved. The consumer is requesting either mediation or for the business to waive the remaining balance (approx$1600)

I don't think the homeowner knows how this worksLet me address some of his concerns againThe company has not been soldI do not know where he got that informationWe did make a mistakeThe second mason on the job did not pull the permit as because he was taking over for mason #He thought it was handledThat being said we were paid in full when he called us backWe came back out because we stand behind our workI was not there but was told by masons job was completeMr*** was told that we would be getting the permitI have personally talked to the building departmentThey know we never and I mean never try to cut corners or doing anything untowardWhen the weather permits we will be back out to dig the wall all the way down to the footer so that the building department can inspect properlyThis complaint was not even needed as we had already told him a month before the complaint that we would take care of itWe have been in business for years nowWe have an outstanding reputationI think someone may be prompting him to do thisI am not sureMy office called him again today They got ahold of him and told him we would be in touch to come out and fix any issuesThere is nothing we can do at this pointWhen the weather permits we will go out there and do whatever is needed to correct any issuesI think that is all that really needs to said or doneThanksJohn D***Owner

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

Mr*** *** really has no reason to file a complaintWe were contracted to do the masonry work as specifiedOur original mason was sent off the job Our other masons came in to do the jobthere was a mistake made We didn't get the needed permitWe have already talked to the building
department and we are sending them the blueprints. We talked to Mr*** *** many times by phone and we assured him that we would handle everythingHe had said there was a leak after we had installed the block I sent my guys out within a day or two and they dug it up and did more workAs far as the steps being built at the right heightI was framing in the steps when there were no other steps thereWe asked him if the steps were in the same position as beforeHe said yesLater after we were complete then he said they were not rightI understand without them being complete he must have misunderstoodAfter that we went in , tore out the steps and built a brand new set of stairs which were to his liking at the end of the job that dayNow I am hearing for the very fist time that the there is a problem with the stairs and a problem with the wall againNever has he called in and told us thisThis is the first timeWe record all conversations hereAfter we sent the masons out he told us everything was good no leaks Now I have this complaintWe have and always will stand behind our workI plan to get this resolved as soon as the weather is good enoughWe will call him on Monday January 15th to have someone come over and get a list of any issues he might haveI am sorry we couldn't get this done as quickly as we would have liked but we will handle any and all issues surrounding this jobAs far as the cracking any time you replace an entire basement wall there can be some movement of the walls and floor aboveAs I said we will be out and handle whatever it is as alwaysWe have been in business for years We do not try to take advantage of anyone

We have been working with customer for a time to get him scheduled in for someone to come out to fix his issueScheduling conflicts arose, but as of the weekend of August 26, we have been to his home and have addressed the customers concerns Before leaving the work was completed and to the
customers satisfaction

On 5/15/18, one of CARE's workers, Phil, went to Mr***'s home. Phil looked at things and presented a solution to the problem. They agreed and the work is to be scheduled

I am rejecting this response because:
The consumer's basement is still leaking profusely. The consumer would like a definite date for the repair work

The customer has been told numerous times. We have been to the property multiple times. We cannot do anything until the weather is good as the temperature is over 50 degrees for masonry work. we have apologized to the man . I am going to bring in topsoil to help with the clay dirt issue. I am not god . If I were I would give him an exact date. If he is god he can give me an exact date. We don't want to do half-as work in poor conditions that will lead to another issue. I don't know how much firmer I can be on this. We have been in communication with him multiple times. We are going to handle it and do whatever is needed to make him happy . Also the last time we were there he mentioned about some wood wasn't secure. I sent someone over and it turns out there was no issue he just didnt understand the way we framed it. That cost me money . no problem . The point is we are going to handle it when the time is right. Until then please refrain from further complaints as they don't make us move any quicker they just make us wonder about the customers true intentions. Or if he is even understanding the messages we have left with him. ie: when the time is right we will be back and handle like we do with our over 5000 satisfied customers.24 years in the biz. Mr. [redacted]. Please stop this insanity . If we don't follow through when the weathers nice then report us all you wantJohn D[redacted]Owner

I am rejecting this response because:
I reject the work done on my house because:   They didn't get a permit. I heard when a permit is pulled, work is checked as it progresses so that the building codes are adhered to.I called C.A.R.E. when I found the basement leaking, water running freely through the block to a drain in the center of the basement. They came out and agreed to correct itI called CARE when I found the basement leaking, water running freely through the block to a drain in the center of the basement.  They came out and agreed to correct it      and waited for the ground to dry out, a couple of days then dug down 3 – 4 feet and found an area not sealed, also no tar at all. They did not dig down to the footer to seal that area. They sealed and tarred only half way to the footer. Dec. 23, a good many days later it rained and lightly snowed. Leaked again, water running again almost as bad as before.A ~ 1/8 in. separation between the block wall and the sill plate running from the back of the house was filled with cardboard. I told them the landing was moved down about 7 inches from the back door and the space between the steps irregular. The stairs and landing were replaced the second time and looked good but a couple of days after I found the back two landing supports were hanging free. Clay was dumped along the foundation and lawn, a lot on the other side of the house under a bay window. I contacted the Revdex.com to see what to do rather than to keep calling them back out. If it hadn't rained enough it might have been a long time for the leaks to show. I was informed CARE was sold, I don't know how that affects me. I did not receive a call Jan 15 nor any day since.
