I am rejecting this response because: After reading the response from Shifty Management I went over to see the [redacted] Manager to look at the invoice that says "refer to catalog for warranty". It actually does say that but the problem with that is the [redacted] manager has no idea what catalog they are referring to. He does not have any idea what they are talking about. They have no catalog and have never had a catalog. This transmission was not picked out of a catalog. We just called Shift Management and talked to Joe and I then paid for the transmission. Shift management has changed their position repeatedly since this problem occurred. First it was"We have the right to demand that you bring the vehicle in so we can do the work. We have to do the work they said. Next it was we'll supply the parts after we look at it. Then it went to we have to inspect it with no mention of work to it. Now it is we'll supply the parts with no inspection necessary . Nobody ever said that they can fix it while I wait... Lies,Lies,Lies. Making it up as they go along. When the [redacted] manager called Shift Management the other day they faxed over some piece of paper that seems to define their warranty requirements. This was first anybody had seen anything related to warranty info, now with their response it refers to an imaginary catalog that nobody has seen or heard of. These guys are a joke. Instead of accepting responsibility for their errors they are jumping through hoops to blame myself and [redacted] for not having the warranty info. This info should have been supplied to me at the time I picked up my truck. It's their WARRANTY AND IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE ALL PARTIES INVOLVED HAVE A COPY OF SAID WARRANTY. They are intentionally not issuing copies of the warranty info so when the time comes for warranty work they can just blame others and point fingers in a feeble attempt to avoid responsibility. My receipt says "bought thru [redacted]" not "bought by [redacted]. And please your feeble apology is also a joke because when I mentioned bringing Revdex.com in to help I was told go ahead and do it. Biggest mistake ever calling Shifty Management.

Let me start out by extending my apology for your frustration. Allow my to clarify that [redacted] purchased the transmission from us and paid for the unit, thus is our customer.  Mr. [redacted] paid for installation of the unit. The signed invoice to [redacted] clearly states: Consult catalog for...

specific warranty. The warranty states the  any claimed defective product must be returned directly to SMI for inspection. We enforce this to insure that the claim is true and accurate. Mr.[redacted] stated that he notice transmission fluid leaking and that there are bolts missing from the transmission pan. This type of leak  can happen when the gasket shrinks thus the bolts loosen and vibrate out.  Mr. [redacted] expressed his frustration and concerns that he didn't want to return to our shop for the repairs to be done. We offered to supply him with the parts needed  ( With out inspecting the vehicle) and we expressed that we could fix the issue while he waits, but that we would not pay labor to an outside shop.  We will continue to honor the warranty and repair the work needed until the warranty expires.

Have you dropped the pan to see of there are damaging contaminants in the pan? or are you just assuming? As you previously stated, the fluid is leaking from the pan not the transmission. In the transmission industry these are two separate interties ( per say) . Two horns on the same goat I guess you could say. I can only draw my diagnostic  conclusion from what you have verbally  provided. Two  pan bolts missing and transmission fluid leaking. There for my conclusion is that the pan gasket shrunk ( as they some times due )  ( we don’t make the gaskets, we buy them ) causing the pan bolts to vibrate loose and fall out, thus leaking fluid.  This would take about 20 minutes to fix.  This certainly does not reflect on our workmanship or our product. A vehicle has a lot of moving parts in it , these things can happen.  And this is why companies provide warranties. did you receive a copy? That can’t be proven. I couldn't imagine that you would leave with out asking for one. We provide  a copy to everyone else , I can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t have received one. As for [redacted] not having a copy, I can’t speak on the behaviors of another company. We have been doing business with [redacted] for many years, I’m certain they were provided a copy. What reputable company would request a copy?As for the fluid. In reference to reusing the fluid in the pan. If the fluid is clean is can be reused. This minor fix doesn’t require 18 quarts of fluid.I agree, it wouldn’t  behoove  either parties at this point to meet face to face.  I will contact ( our customer, [redacted]) and have the parts waiting in will call.I request that any further correspondence  be conducted between SHIFT MANAGEMENT and [redacted].
