Revdex.com:This is regarding the response from Construction Services Unlimited to the complaint # *** submitted on 12/22/against Construction Services Unlimited.Upon reading the response from Mr *** *** of Construction Unlimited I found that Mr *** left out a number of thingsHe did not “work with me & my wife while waiting for funds from the insurance company.” On April 14, he wanted $2,in advance and we gave it to him to buy stockOn April 20, he said he wanted another $5,to buy more stockOn April 24, he asked for another $2,to buy more stockOn April 29, 2015, asked for $11,because he said he needed the money to make payroll for the job.On May 8, he came to me & said he needed the balance of the moneyI told him that the job was not completed & that, among other things, the roof was not doneWe told him we were not giving him any more money until we received the check from the insurance companyHe replied that if we did not give him the money he would not finish the job & that I would have to get someone else to finish the job.On May 8, we gave Mr *** another $5,He then fixed the roof but did not clean the gutters or replace the valvesMr *** replaced the gutter over the kitchen & fixed the gutter over the back of the houseTherefore, he got paid for the workAs far as the cleaning of the gutters, what's the sense of fixing the roof if the gutters are not cleaned? That is part of the jobIf the gutters are not cleaned, the damage can happen againAs stated in my complaint, after talking to Mr ***, we agreed not to clean the gutters until the end of fall when all the leaves would be off the trees,As far as the valves are concerned, Mr *** replaced my kitchen sink & had to replace the water filterThe valves were to be shut off so I could replace the filterI went down to the cellar & I found the shut off valveBoth Mr *** & his brother ** came down the cellar with me & I showed them both the valveHis brother ** saw other other valves that needed to be replaced & said it would be best to change them instead of the other oneMr *** agreedAgain he was paid for doing the job,At that time, to show my appreciation, I gave him pieces of foot masonry staging & cross braces, wheels, outriggers & four foot planks with a value of approx $600,If Mr *** had not agreed to do the work, on 11/23/15, when I called him, why did he make an appointment with me to do the work on Dec 2, & then, because of the weather, call me to change the work date to Dec 8, 2015? On Dec 8, he didn't show up & I tried calling him that day times on his cell phone & times at his officeThis was not mentioned in his response. Also, the exhaust fan that was installed over the kitchen stove was not installed properly because there is cold air coming into the house from it.As you can see, Mr *** did not do anything that he was not paid forHe agreed on everything discussed then did not live up to the agreementWhen doing remodeling you cannot put everything into the contract because things come up that you & the contractor cannot see until the job gets underwayI'm sure Mr *** made allowances in his price for thisThanks very much, *** ***

I have reviewed the complaint noted above and my response is as follows:After the snow and ice storms of the winter 2014, Construction Services Unlimited (CSU) was contracted by *** *** in April of to repair damages to his home at *** *** *** *** **I've attached a copy of
the CSU contract, a signed and dated CSU Completion of Work and signed Certification of the Completion of the Repairs that was requested by the insurance company so that Mr*** would receive the insurance paymentI worked with Mr*** and his wife while waiting for the funds from the Insurance companyI covered the deductible and lowered the original contract price in order for all repairs to be covered by the insurance settlementI've also included the sworn statement in proof of lossWe went above and beyond the scope of work outlined in the attached contractThe work mentioned in his complaint, cleaning gutters and replacing water valves were not included in the contract nor were they included in the price of his insurance claimThere is no contract between CSU and Mr*** for items mentioned in his complaintHe called several times asking me to come by to clean his guttersAs a good faith measure, I planned to stop by on 12/2/because I was working in the neighborhood, but the weather did not cooperateAgain, the services are not part of the contractAt this point in time, I suggest he find someone else to provide these servicesI believe this should clear up any misunderstanding

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by G.A. Hughes Contracting regarding complaint ID [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]

Hello,On January 20, 2016 we received a letter from the Revdex.com stating that you had not heard back from the consumer and therefore the complaint had been closed. The following is in response to your letter dated February 1, 2016 looking for a reply to the consumer's rebuttal. As stated in our first response submitted via fax on 1/4/16 that included a copy of our original contract, and two Completion of Work documents, one for our company and one for Mr. [redacted]'s insurance company, the scope of work as outlined in the contract was completed. Mr. [redacted] signed two Completion of Work documents. As we mentioned in that response, as a good faith measure, we were going to stop by Mr. [redacted]'s home because we were in the neighborhood, but the weather did not permit us to do so. It was raining and not safe for us to go up two stories on a ladder to clean his gutters. Again, this was not part of the contract, it was to help him out. Replacing water valves were not included in the contract, nor were they part of his insurance claim. We returned to his home 90 days later to show him how and to replace the water filters, again at no charge. Construction Services Unlimited (CSU) was not hired to change any water valves. Please refer to the two Completion of Work documents that were signed by Mr. [redacted] of which you have copies. Both state that he was completely satisfied with the work. At this time there is no open contract or unfinished work at Mr. [redacted]'s home.  Thank  you.
