September 26, 2014
On Friday September 19, 2014
a service tech named Jeremy W who has been working for ConstruXX for 3 + years
showed up at [redacted] PA [redacted].
He talked with [redacted] about her existing problems.  1) very slow water drainage from tub  2)...

toilet running.  He talked with [redacted] and explained to her
about rebuilding the toilet and the tub drainage problem was a bell trap and
lead pipe.  If we ran a sewer eel it
would not go through that type of trap. The access plug to the trap was not
open for years and he told [redacted] due to corrosion and other problems with
traps he felt if he tried to remove the plug due to corrosion he might not be
able to put the plug back in. (the tech saw corrosion  and pipes made of lead) and warned her about
chemicals and sewer ell again about the conditions of her pipe and what might
happen.  She agreed to use
chemicals.  See attached work order with
her signature stating CosntruXX and or Jeremy would not be responsible for any
type of damage due to sewer openings.
CosntruXX ie: Jeremy put the chemical in the tub took about 20 minutes
to semi drain when it did drain the tub drained slowly.  ConstruXX ie: Jeremy ran tub 3 times
approximately 5 to 6 minutes each time, ConstruXX  ie Jeremy then went and got [redacted] and ran
the tub 2 more times for approximately 10 minutes additional time and there was
no leaks in the ceiling, on the floor or anything that was noticeable at that
time.  IF you add all the run time on the
tub you have 6 minutes x 3 times = 18 minutes plus or minus plus the 10 minutes
run times showed to [redacted] which equals almost ½ hour of running water.  IF we would have caused any damage to the
pipe at that time when she signed off we would have seen any type of damage.  Again verbally she was made aware and she
signed off on our work order that we were not responsible for any damage, again
no leaks.  9:00 a.m. Friday morning

Saturday September 20, 2014 10:00 p.m. [redacted] calls ConstruXX emergency cell
phone as says she has a leak coming down through the ceiling above her foyer at
the front door again 37 hours later.  At
a very noticeable place in her house where she can obviously can see that there
is any problem with the ceiling or floor with a drip, 36 hours after she signed
a work order stating ConstruXX/Jeremy would not be responsible for any damage
to her pipe again she calls the emergency line and tells me there is a leak and
how she is going to sue us if we don’t get to her immediately to fix it.  I happened to have been out of town and
asleep for an hour and half when she called an abruptly stated she was going to
sue me.  No talk of what may have taken
place just rudely stating that if I didn’t come immediately she was going to
sue me.  I told [redacted] that I was out
of town about 4 hours away and I would call her when I got back in town Sunday
and politely would address the problem Sunday afternoon and come down Monday to
look at the problem.Sunday September 21, 2014 t
11:26 a.m. I called [redacted] she again threaten me and verbally abused me on
the phone and said she was on the other line with [redacted] at this point
and time I realized [redacted] was not going to listen to reason and was very
abusive person.  I realize her stress I
also realize at this time the stress she was putting me under.  [redacted] contacted CosntruXX
immediately and asked us if we could get out on Sunday I told them no and I
told them I talked to [redacted] and told her I would be able to go out on
Monday.  [redacted] said the would
dispatch another plumber.  We got the
pictures on Monday and I addressed the pictures with [redacted], If you
look in the picture there is plenty of rot “previous damage” of lot demo around
that area and multiple spots on the pipe that all of the pipe is a problem and
when we talked to [redacted] we found out they remodeled the bathroom.  We went to [redacted]’s house on Wednesday
afternoon September 24, 2014, We met with [redacted] she was on the phone, she was
very rude let us in the house to take pictures of the pipe and ceiling and
would not hang up the phone to five us her attention.  I explained about signing the work
order.  She then swore at me and at that
point and time Jeremy and Harold retreated to the van and told her to have a
great day.  The fact of the matter at
hand is one cannot be responsible for the condition of that homeowners
pipe.  Yes things do happen, she signed
off on the work order, she was told verbally and no I do not feel I should pay
for a bathroom remodel especially if the floor is rotting and molding.  Through [redacted] we also know she was
in the house 2 – 3 weeks how does she know what might be wrong with her house
in that short of time.Harold W

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Please contact master plumber [redacted] ###-###-#### for further information. He was sent by [redacted] to fix the hole in the pipe caused by the substandard plumbing of Construxx. The Construxx plumber did not preliminary inspection of the home's plumbing. No plumber should EVER put a commercial acid into lead pipes. His actions caused a hole in the pipe that [redacted] will verify as a direct result of the acid. Construxx has tried to say that I have white and black mold --but in the pictures-what you are seeing is concrete dust and plumbers putty used to apply the coupling to fix the leak caused by Construxx. My home has a concrete subfloor under the bathroom floor which account for any discoloration. It is in no way to connected to the damaging actions of the Construxx plumber. I have had 2 separate plumbers give me their professional opinion/report.  This was caused by acid placed in my pipes which has caused a leak. At the very least, this plumber should have known that no acid should be placed in a lead pipe--it will burn a hole in the pipe. I had no leaks and had a plumbing inspection prior to purchasing the home 1 month ago.  I have submitted a claim to my homeowners insurance who will be doing their own investigation and will be seeking reimbursement for damages. This company has lied to me regarding having mold, so it does not surprise me that they will not correct  their error and make things right. I will continue to seek justice and will escalate to small claims court with documentation from other plumbers and my home owners investigation.  If further pictures are required, I will gladly provide them.

Review: On Friday, September 19, Construxx was sent to my home for repair of a toilet and a slow draining tub. The repairman fixed the toilet and told me he put a commercial strength drain cleaner in the tub drain. The following day, water poured from the upstairs through the ceiling and onto my hard wood floors. I called Construxx immediately and was told no one was available to come out. I called several times the next day and was told the same. My home warranty company sent another plumber out on Monday to fix it. He told me that the leak was caused by the acid placed in the cast iron pipes which ate a large hole in the pipe. A coupling was placed on the hole but it continues to leak. In order to fix the leak, my whole bathroom floor needs to be removed because of a cement subfloor that houses the pipe.

Construxx was directed to come out and inspect the damage. The owner, Harold, and the serviceman who put the acid in the pipe showed up and took pictures of the pipe. They told me I had mold and that they were not responsible for the leak. The second plumber confirmed there was not a mold issue and that the hole was caused by the acid.

I called Construxx and received threatening treatment to leave it alone. I asked for their insurance info for my home owners insurance and the owner hung up.

I now have another company that has to come in and rip out my bathroom floor, cement subfloor and redo the tub and toilet costing me a large amount of money and frustration as this is my only shower. The treatment I received was extremely poor to say the least and very rude.Desired Settlement: The plumber shall reimburse for the costs of repairing the damage to my bathroom and living room ceiling caused by the plumber placing acid in my bathtub drain
