Review: My husband and I have been experiencing financial hardships due to medical bills and was approved via Consumer Advocacy in April 2013. We paid Consumer Advocacy $1650.00 for the completion of our approval for the Federal Mortgage Reduction program. We can not reach anyone at Consumer Advocacy and now have received a "form" letter stating our case is closed.Desired Settlement: We want a refund of the fee paid above because Consumer Advocacy did not complete the process and we are a year behind on our mortgage. Consumer Advocacy has committed fraud (misrepresentation).

Regards,

Review: In August of 2013, [redacted] with CAA let me know that they were able to assist me and my husband with a "Reconstruction Loan" with my mortgage company. I was told that the fee would be $450 to fill out the application and get all of the paperwork together so that I could submit to my mortgage company. Once the paperwork was complete and I had submitted everything needed to [redacted] with CAA, he then let me know that before they send me the completed paperwork, I would need to pay another $1,200. I went back and forth for a couple of weeks with CAA letting them know that my husband was very against sending the $1,200 without results. Against our better judgement, we sent in the $1,200. After the long 4 months that I went back and forth with my mortgage company, we were declined. There were multiple documents that I had to resubmit to them, including the fact that I had to go to their website, download the application again, fill it out and re-submit. On March 18th when we were declined for a loan modification, they told me that I could have gone to the Homeaffordable.gov website to determine in the very beginning if I was a candidate to qualify for this. CAA should have known about this before they told me that we would qualify. I feel that we were mislead by CAA and we wasted a lot of time and money for nothing. I am very upset and feel that they took advantage of us. I don't want them to do this to anyone else.Desired Settlement: I feel that we were taken advantage of. I have all of my emails and documentation that I went through with IndyMac as well as CAA. There are a lot of people like ourselves that are not familiar with the process to get a loan modification and trust that a company like CAA will do what they say they will. When I contacted CAA for a refund on March 18th, they emailed me back on the 20th asking for 2 weeks to respond to my email. I have yet to hear back from them. This is very disappointing.

Review: I hired this company to prepare loan modification paperwork to submit to my home mortgage lender. I submitted my financial information for them to review to see if I was eligable for a modification. They then notified me that I was eligable and that their preparation of the paperwork would result in a modification from my lender with a possibility of a principle dreduction. When submitted I was notified by my lender that I was not eligable for a modification or a principle reduction. When I notified Consumer Advocacy of the denial, I was instructed to send the denial letter to their Compliance department for review. That was 3 weeks ago and I cannot get a return call or email.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the $1650.00 fee charged for the service based on the claims of the company that a modification would be issued by my lender.

Review: We started working with an underwriter at this business in July 2013. The underwriter said he could definitely help us and we would be foolish not to proceed. He also said it didn't matter what you've done in the past to modify your loan with the bank. He stated our financial status and loan met many of the qualifications to get a loan modification well below a 4% interest rate and principal loan reduction. My wife, [redacted] and I paid this business $450 then $1,200 to create the modification package for us. All we needed to do was give them our financial paperwork and they would do the rest. The underwriter stated once we submit the package they created, that they will work with us until we get the new loan modification from our bank. Our bank immediately denied our modification request; stating we have a good interest rate and you do not have a hardship because our payments are up to date. Everything the Consumer Advocacy Assistance said was completely contrary to what our bank was telling us. This company said let's try looking at this loan from a compliance standpoint. So, we got loan info. from Bank of America and gave it to them to review. The underwriter stated 5-7 business they will contact us.It's now been about 1.5 months later and nobody has reached out to us to help. We contacted their customer service and the underwriter numerous times. They never call us back. We feel they tricked us into believing we could modify our loan and that they take money from anybody without really looking into our ability to refinance. They got $1,650 and all we got in return was a document that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. We can't afford to lose this money. We can't even ask for a refund because they won't talk to us anymore.Desired Settlement: We would like our $1,650 back for services not rendered. They dropped us as a client as soon as they realized they couldn't help us.

[Consumer Advocacy Assistance stated to you they would contact me to come to a resolution. First their reply is vague; I asked for a refund. They lied to both of us. They have not contacted me nor do they have any intention of doing so. This seems to be a loan mod scam.]
