Review: My wife and I were contacted through a mailing in March 2013 from The Remedy Group that we qualified for a government program such as Harp or Hamp. The company stated that we qualified for refinancing since our mortgage was a Freddie Mac backed loan with Bank of America and that they would be able lower our interest rates thus lowering our monthly payments. The Remedy Group required money upfront before they could secure the loan. The first check was cashed by them on 3/19/13 for the amount of $1,500. The second check was cashed by them on 4/22/13 for the amount of $2,600. During this time frame the Remedy Group referred us to their credit card consolidation division known as - Debt Pay Gateway. They offered the ability to consolidate our credit cards and reduce our overall debt. We were required to make installments to them as well. The first payment was sent on 6/19/13 for the amount of $674.75. The second was sent on 7/19/13 for the amount of $603.06. Before we concluded business with Debt Pay Gateway we were informed by Remedy Group on 7/24/13 that our home refinancing was cancelled. We were unable to get any answers from Remedy Group as to the reason for the cancellation. Realizing that Remedy Group took $4,100 and Debt Pay Gateway took $1,277.81 of our money without providing any refinancing or consolidation options for us we abruptly cancelled our relationship with Debt Pay Gateway. We sent a certified letter to Remedy Group / Debt Pay Gateway that was received by them on 11/19/13. We were contacted by them twice since the letter was received but, have not been able to get our money refunded. The Remedy Group is known as four different companies: The Remedy Group, Consumer Legal Center, Debt Pay Gateway and mysecureprocessing.com.
