I am not sure how to respond to this complaint.  An unauthorized driver was involved in an accident.  This is an insurance company issue.  We have insurance and the customer has insurance and I am confident they will work it out.  We merely indicated that the gentleman's...

insurance was primary since the driver of the vehicle was not listed on the rental agreement.  His insurance company is welcome to pursue this if they feel appropriate. So, I am not sure how to address the customer's issue.  He just seems to be unhappy with the insurance laws, not us.Sincerely,Andrew Wiley, Owner

Upon further investigation by my insurance agency, I was informed that there were multiple discrepancies with the rental agreement. Apparently the business was allowing a female (unauthorized driver) to sign rental extensions without the male who was the only authorized driver they are claiming to be on the policy. If the male and female arrived together, why didn't he sign? Also apparently on the original rental agreement her signature also appears in the customer signature. Multiple employees allowed her to extend and change the day by day rental solely with her signature. Those employees include [redacted] Regards,

I am very pleased with my Avalanche that I purchased on Dec. 19, 2014. [redacted] is awesome as he made sure I was happy with my purchase & was very friendly & helpful.

Thanks again [redacted]!!!

Jr did a great job helping me get the car I wanted!! He was there from start to finish answering any question I had. Thank You Again Jr && CAW!!

Review: Was hit by one of their rental cars when an unauthorized driver was driving the car. The driver ran off and left the car in the middle of the road. When I contacted the dealer a salesman ([redacted]) sounded shocked and took my information and said that a manager would call me back. They never called me back and I had to call them. Talked to a manager ([redacted]), and they said that since it was an unauthorized driver they aren't responsible.

Response:

Again, I don't know what this customer wants? The issue has been referred to our respective insurance companies. There is nothing to be done. The insurance companies will sort out liability.

Regards,

Review: I over paid for the car in the first place. After I returned the car clean an wipes because when they have me the car it was covered in dust an sticky stuff everywhere I had to clean it to make sure they didn't say I did it. They charged my card without calling me for an additional 150 dollars I still had some of my deposit left so it was only 132 and some change. Didn't call me or even explain why. I called an they said they had 3 employees confirm that we had smoked in the car. If that's the way the determine things then I won't rent cars anymore I do not smoke cigarettes an have never. When I rent or buy things I have to return I take excellent care of them an I value the way I think when I'm caring for others belongings. I'm not just trying to do this to get back at them I'm concerned that they can just charge anyone's card at anytime for any reason ? That makes me feel like I have been stolen from an there is nothing I can do ? The owner said to me there is nothing we can do at this time. I was hung up on twice trying to talk to them. I was hung up on twice by them. It was a horrible experience I will never go back an I will spread the word about how they go off of there employees own words an they can charge you for anything without asking or notifying you.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back, because there was absolutely no way they could determine smoking there was none

Ms. [redacted] rented a vehicle from us and returned it after hours. I checked the vehicle in the morning it was returned and noticed a strong smoke odor and ash marks on the door pillar near the drivers side window. The car also reeked of alcohol. I then had the rental manager and rental clerk both check the car over to verify my concerns about the smoke smell.

Our rental contracts clearly indicate that smoking is not permitted, as well as our key chains. We inform EVERY customer of this and tell them we will immediately charge their card/deposit for smoking if there is any evidence of smoking including a smoke odor, ashes, or any other indication of smoking. Our contract actually calls for a $250.00 fee for smoking, but we opted to only charge the actual cost of detailing the vehicle to remove the smoke odor.

When Ms. [redacted] called to complain about the charge, she and her boyfriend were both belligerent with my staff and used foul language. We do not permit foul language in our store and I will not subject my employees to unnecessary abuse. Both times we disconnected the call was due to abusive, curse language from the customer.

Clearly, the car was smoked in. The customer signed a contract stating they would be charged $250.00 for evidence of smoking. We had several employees verify the condition of the car before proceeding with the charge. It is within our rights to charge $250.00, but we reduced that to the actual cost of reconditioning the car. We could, if the customer wants to continue to press the issue, make efforts to collect on the remaining $100.00 from them and submit their account to collections.

Sincerely,

Andrew Wiley

I can tell you right now that I do not smoke my mother smokes an in that case all of my belonging also may smell like smoke but there was absolutely no smoking an absolutely no smoking marks ! I wiped the car down very good on the door an the middle if that's the way they handle business there going about it the wrong way just to make some extra money I can't believe there now saying there was alcohol on the car. If they are that desperate to making it seem like I smoked in the car I will drop it an be sure to make sure anyone I know will not go there for business. Thank you
