How does Consumers Energy receive an A+ Rating from the Revdex.com with these negative reviews? We had [redacted] for twenty years without any issuesWe moved to a rural area months ago without any choices for service other than Consumers EnergyWe saw they had awful reviews (not good one), so we were concernedOur first bill was $after we carefully kept our thermostat on 69-the entire timeSometimes it was shut off because it was nice weather outsideI might also mention we have a GEO THERMAL heating and cooling system (energy efficient!)In addition, we are rarely home because we both work 24/so there's not a lot of lights on or anything running during the day or nightWe noticed there are "fees" included in our regular usage charges on the billWe were charged $Distribution Fees and Service fees of $Our total usage was almost as much as their extra feesHorrible price gouging by this companyThis should be illegal to do to people when they have no other choice in companies to useIf you google Consumers Energy in Iowa and other states you will see they have horrible reviewsI am going to contact the FTC and the Attorney General in my state about these (fees) and these terrible business practicesIf you do have a choice between companies and Consumers Energy is one of them RUN, don't walk!

I too was told, by Consumers, their rates are high because: they do not have a large customer base...plus the outrageous meter charge
The north side of ankeny has exploded in population in the past years So my question to Consumers Energy and thier board members is what are you using as an exuse these days to give your customers that are sick of your exorbitant prices? We should have a choice as residents of Ankeny to use *** Energy which is 1/the cost of Consumers Energy

I have received my bill for this month and it is absolutely outrageousThe fact that there is a service charge every month is beyond stupidI did not choose to use this company! $for electricity is over the top, I have spoken to many people and their electricity bill is about $at the highestI do not understand why in the hell there is a service charge just to read the meterthat is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of
When I called the office I talked to the rudest lady I have ever spoken withShe was very very VERY disrespectful and snotty to meShe flat out made me feel like a complete itI will never use this company again, nor will I ever recommend it to anybodyEvery person I have ever spoken to is very rude to me
