Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2015/11/18) */
Business response received via fax to Revdex.comScan is attached; text of letter reads as follows:
"As Ms *** stated I was contacted by *** the day he had the problemHe asked me to pay to have it towed to us from somewhere near St Cloud
where the problem happenedI replied that if he would have to get it to us and we would take over from there and get the work done at our wholesale cost (which they would pay)
The next time I heard from *** he had it in another repair shop (we have never had the opportunity to see the vehicle)
At that time he said he was going to have it fixed himself, (which does not allow us to get it done at our wholesale cost)
I am sorry they have gone through so much, but I explained to AMOS to get it to us and we would get him estimates, like any business, there is a wholesale and retail cost
Security Auto Loans contacted me next and stated that *** was going to get it fixed on his own, was there anything we could do for himWe had located a motor and transmission and installation at approximately 1/the cost they had been given from $to $depending on inspection)
Security asked if I could help them with a payment that was due, seeing that they were taking care of the repair on their ownI agreed to do so, even though Mr *** knew we had found a person to replace the motor at wholesale
Later *** called and said that the motor he had gotten didn't work out and was no good, what would I do about it now after he went through all the troubleI stated I had a motor available that I would give him at no cost and all he would have to do is have it installedHe refused that offer
If the vehicle had been brought back to us as we had agreed on this problem would have been solvedIt was their decision to keep it away from us and I am sorry it didn't work outWe had still agreed to make the payment and we haveThe vehicle would have been repaired for less than the $2,they have paid in rental
I have always dealt with ***I know they are good people and have gone through alot, we always tried to do our part but were given no opportunity to do soAll it would have taken is to have it towed to us when it happenedWe tried even the 2nd time by offering the motor and were refused again
I believe we have done as much as we could with our offers of helpWe always dealt with ***, I never received any phone calls or conversation from Ms *** till nowI am not sure she is aware of our offers of help in the situationI believe we could have reached a mutual satisfactory solution if given the chance and did make the payment as the loan company had asked us to, that *** had requested
Sincerely,
Lanny ***

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 11, 2015/11/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Lanny claims if we would have got the vehicle to him he would have taken care of it?
First of all, Lanny was unreachable, never responded to calls, messages left, or even to Security Auto Loans when they tried communicating
Second, we had made numerous attempts asking him to please help us and to make the situation rightWe had only had the vehicle about days, and at the time of the purchase I was very skeptical about purchasing a vehicle from a used dealership, Lanny promised that if there would be any major repairs needed on the vehicle such as Motor/engine and Transmission that it would be covered under his warrantyLanny, lied to us
Next time he heard from ***, he claims our vehicle was in the shop, ONLY for an estimate for repairs, as we had been advised to do so by, Security Auto Loan, we sent our estimate to Security Auto Loan, and, from there, they sent the estimate to Lanny, and had been trying to communicate with Lanny, as we were told, to work with Lanny to come up with a settlementThen we were notified that Lanny had stopped communicating, responding to their calls, messages and they had told us to keep them informed if Lanny were to return our calls and try to communicate
Lanny claims that he made a payment, *** and I, NEVER requested this, and we were never told anything about thisI am honestly unsure what he is even talking about(Please see attached, I recently received this letter from Security Auto Loan) August, September, and October our payments were held and Victoria with Security Auto Loan had been working on extending this for the month on November, but appears this was unsuccessful to stop payment any longerSo from what we can tell, from what we can see, Lanny did not make any payments to us personally or for the payment of the vehicle
Lanny claimed to have a motor BUT wanted *** to go pull it from a broke down vehicle on his lot, pay X amount of money and pay to have the motor installedHe said he was going to give it to us and have us pay to have it installed, that's a lieLanny then said he would discuss everything with his mechanic and try to have everything done for us at no charge to help make the situation right, so days later *** had to contact Lanny, because, he did not contact us like he claimed he would, and at this time, Lanny claimed he would not be able to help us at all, because, he no longer had a mechanic
Lanny has not done anything for us in this matterI still continue to have to pay a weekly car rental payment, just so I can make it back and forth to work and have transportation for my children*** and I have both worked on this problem together so yes I am very aware of the entire situation
Lanny NEVER said anything about charging us for repairsThe engine and transmission was supposed to be covered under his "warranty" due to the repairs being major repairs within days of the purchase of the vehicle
Another thing I would like to add is, the motor inside the trailblazer when purchased was a used motor from a junk yardThis has already been replaced in this vehicle once, Lanny failed to disclose this informationAlso the dash, the speedometer and mileage is faulty and does not workI do not believe the mileage on this vehicle is correct and I believe something needs to be done about this as well
