Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/06/29) */
***
Complainant's son purchased a vehicle from us on May 27, (complainant was NOT present at any time during purchase) A new MVI
was placed on the vehicle at time of purchaseAt the time of inspection, there was no issue with the vehicle that would fail MVI, as per NS regulationsA 3-month, 3,km warranty was also provided at time of purchaseIt was explained to complainant's son that warranty did NOT cover everything, but does cover a lot of issuesComplainant's son signed contract & initialed statement which reads verbatim "The Purchaser agrees that vehicles under $*** are sold "as is", with no dealer responsibility for repairsAll repair claims are to go through the warranty provided at time of purchaseThe dealer accepts no responsibility for repairs not covered under said warranty." Complainant also refused to bring vehicle to dealership so we can confirm gas leak & cause of said leak
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2016/06/29) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
A new safety inspection sticker indicates that the vehicle has passed all points indicated on the certificate with a P for Pass or an R for Repair and is "safe" for a period of two years The gas system on the vehicle we purchased was deemed P so it should have been in a condition that would not indicate a leak in the tank (the tank is very wet) less than a month from the date of purchase *** There is no way the fuel tank was in any condition to receive a P on the 27th of May when it was obviously rusted out enough to begin leaking in less than a month
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2016/07/07) */
We suggest *** contact a licensed mechanic who can explain how the motor vehicle inspection is conductedAs per the Nova Scotia Official Inspection Manual, page Fuel System "visually inspect" - this vehicle passed all requirementsIf needed, I can scan this particular page & submitIf *** cannot locate an licensed mechanic familiar with the inspection process, we invite him to contact*** ***
We have still not received any confirmation that the vehicle is legitimately leaking fuel, as *** refuses to bring it back so we can examinePerhaps the tank was simply overfilled? Or perhaps someone damaged the tank in some wayWe cannot perform repairs on the word of a layman who is not a licensed technician
As a legal document was signed by ***'s son, who actually purchased the vehicle, which clearly stated we are not responsible for any repairs not covered under the provided warrantyWe will not be repairing the vehicle free of charge
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2016/07/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It doesn't take a licenced mechanic to recognize the smell of gas and realize that upon visual inspection a very wet tank during a very dry weather wise period equals that the tank is leaking And for the sake of argument I don't see how "over filling" the tank (which is suppose to be a sealed unit except for the filling neck) would cause the tank to be wet??? I have sent an email off to *** stating my concerns but as far as I'm concerned *** The tank is leaking, point finale, and was not damaged from driving it on the paved streets of* back and forth to school .***

The customer did not inform us of his dissatisfaction until ** had the vehicle home. If there was that much damage, why wouldn't ** bring it to our attention before leaving? Our blasters have years of experience and have never damaged any item....

Our blasters have assured us any damage was pre-existing and hidden by body fill and 30 years of paint. We stand behind our employees 100%. The customer sent extremely rude and disrespectful texts, after which we terminated any further contact. He contacted us yesterday wondering if we were going to provide him with some paint he requested. When I told [redacted] we cancelled the order because of [redacted] texts, ** became quite upset. It was after ** heard we cancelled the paint when ** contacted Revdex.com. We have no interest in any further dealings with this customer. If requested we will provide copies of [redacted] texts. As far as we are concerned, this matter is closed.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I made my complaint known immediately upon viewing the vehicle at the work place I can %100 guarantee there was not a single bit of body fill on that vehicle prior to taking it to mike Davies auto there were brand new body panels that are now bent and dented and were not so prior to receiving work from mike Davis auto. [redacted] himself immediately attempted placing blame away from his company when the issues were brought up. [redacted] response is full of incorrect and false statements.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 28, 2016/09/20) */
Please refer to the before and after photos we have provided. We still, and will continue to support our employees.
