I had contacted the Lewiston Idaho loan office on 3/8/2017 regarding paying off my loan in full. I asked the lady (I believe her name was Trina? I know her name started with the letter T) that answered the phone for the amount...she proceeded to tell me the amount payoff was $ 5440.00 when it was in fact $544.32. I was in momentary shock as she was laughing while on the phone with me. I got quiet and she said "I was only joking" I did not fine any humor in that whatsoever and I told her that. She still quietly laughed and said I was just joking...sorry...I found it very unprofessional. I will not be returning for any further business with them.
Review: Awhile back I gave Continental Loans a letter of complaint against an employee of theirs whom came to my work place so I can sign an agreement on a payment plan. I refused since I was awaiting a decision for deferment on my student loan, from which Consumer Credit Counseling and I agreed upon, and once it was approved I could start making payments. I told her she will need to leave and she refused and started to raise her voice and making a scene. She accused me of lying about my deferment and working with Consumer Credit Counseling. I ended up walking away from her, called her employer and later gave them a formal complaint letter. The deferment decision was taking awhile so I called my student loans, Nelnet and they said they didn't receive my proof of income so they couldn't make a decision. Since it took so long I went ahead and made a payback agreement with Continental Loans, with the same employee. In the meantime, I was at an establishment and the same employee of Continental Loans I complained of earlier purposely elbowed and later bumped into me. I immediately informed an employee of the business in case she decided to continue with her actions and I believe she ended up leaving after that. I attempted contact with other employees of this business but she is the only one who answers and states she in unsure when other employees will return. I feel this is a harassment issue and it started with Continental Loans and am unsure what to do from here.Desired Settlement: I would like to be able to contact someone from Continental Loans to inform them of this person's actions but also so I no longer have to receive services from this person. I don't want to take legal action and not sure if I even have a case. Also, I have enough dealing with other loans and am working it out with each of them and they have all acted professionally, as Continental Loans has in the past until my incident with this employee.

Ms. [redacted] obtained a $295.00 (amount financed) loan from our Lewiston, Idaho branch on February 22, 2013 and agreed to repay the loan in six (6) monthly installments of $75.00 beginning March 22, 2013. After Ms. [redacted] became seriously delinquent, we attempted to contact her using the telephone numbers and addresses provided by her in her application. Upon notification from her, we have ceased all contact with Ms. [redacted] at her job. However, it is in her best interest to keep in contact with the local branch so they can understand the nature of her problems and work out a way that she can pay off her loan.
Our business is successful because we strive for great customer service. We apologize if she feels that she was not treated with the service that she has come to expect. That was not our intention and the new employee was coached to provide the company’s required standard of service. However, the employee, [redacted], will not work Ms. [redacted]’s account in the future.
