Great company.Did a great job. Matt and his crew were great.
Thank you guys!

I went to the Revdex.com site to file a complaint because last year when I selected Continental Moving Services they advertised they were AAA+ rated now I find out they are no longer registered!

They misrepresented themselves as a mover when they are a moving broker. They connected us with a moving company that gave us a miserable experience, lost $2-3,000 of stuff, that we gout an $84 settlement.

This company does a poor job and is not honest.

I do not recommend anyone doing business with them.

I am very glad to have selected this company. In all honesty, I was very worried in the beginning. This was the first time I use a moving company, and some close family friends scared me at first saying that I can't trust movers, and that they would steal or break my items. Their google reviews weren't flattering either because of a mix up with another moving company with the same name, so I almost cancelled on them. Only when I saw that they were ranked A+ with the Revdex.com that I decided to continue with them. I am glad that I did. They handled the entire process with care and professionalism. The cost is relatively above average, but I chose it because I wanted peace of mind.
I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because they don't handle car moving across the border (they do it via a 3rd party), and it was a bit of a challenge to get all the paperwork done. I decided to work with the 3rd party company directly for moving the cars.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these folks. They were great they helped us with a last minute move from Montreal QC Canada to Fort Wrth TX. Price was fair. I received my stuff in tact within a week.
Great people, highly recommended!!

I cannot praise this company enough. After having the first company we hired (Mission Movers) fail to show TWICE, we scrambled and got ahold of Continental Moving. Joe Hamilton was the contact man and we were told their bookings were out about 2 months. When we explained what happened with the first movers, he went above and beyond to help us and we were able to be squeezed in. He kept in contact with us throughout the entire move. The movers themselves were so great, too! Thank you, Continental Moving Services, Inc for everything!!

It was Joe ***not Hamilton

I highly recommend Continental! I worked with them in coordinating a move for a very close elderly friend from a remote location in MT. The move went smoothly, and everything was delivered in tact. Thank you Joe Reynolds for his professionalism, responsiveness and great customer service!

I want to warn everyone not to use Continental Moving Services. We were scammed.

I reserved them back in March of 2020. I had to move the moving date because the condo did sell as quickly as we thought it would. They quoted us a price. I paid a $1000 deposit and secured the date. I was told I had an until a week before my move to cancel my move or I would lose my deposit. This week I was told that they needed more money because they underestimated the amount of our items in storage units, so I paid them any additional money. They also increased the price to move my car from $700 to $875. We are disputing the deposits paid with the bank.

Two days ago we were told that Continental wouldn't be moving us, that they hired a third party name Ocean Moving and Storage. Today, we learned that Ocean Moving and Storage has a D minus rating with the Revdex.com. I have researched Ocean Moving and Storage and found lots of complaints. LPD found lawsuits against them in Florida.

Yesterday, they arrived with a tiny Enterprise Rental Truck. Nothing would have fit in it. We were confused why a reputable company would use an Enterprise Rental Truck. They wanted us to pay them using an app that you download on a phone, cash or with a cashiers check.

The movers came inside the condo and told us they would use two trucks to move us, but it would double our moving price. They also told us that they would charge us extra to move each lamp and protect any glass. They also told us that they dont reassembly beds. We told them it was in the contract, but they said they don't do that. The price kept climbing. We fired them. They NEVER loaded any of our items into the truck. The police have told us it is a good thing we didn't let them put our stuff in their truck because we would have probably never gotten our items back.

We called Continental Moving Services to find out what was going on and were told that this is the way things go. Joe the guy at Continental Moving Services called us a little bit ago to tell us that we had forfeited our deposits. We told him this was a scam and hung up on him.

Continental Moving Services is not located at the Address in Beverly Hills, CA. I mailed them a deposit check that was returned to me as the address the company does not reside in the business address. Continental picked up my furniture in Seattle, Washington and started to ask for Cash on Delivery only. I did not have Cash as I mentioned to the guy that answered the phone. HE was able to accept a credit card for $800 dollar deposit. I then wanted send direct from my bank a credit card account. I was going to break up the $2000 balance they were asking for CASH. I was not comfortable to have guys show up and get cash at my home address.

I asked to drop by their office and see my furniture that they picked up from Seattle. Their local carrier for Continental stored my furniture in a storage room in San Diego. Their local career kept calling me from a number in Sacramento. I was paying a guy in Beverly Hills with my credit card to pick up my furniture from Continental Moving and Storage in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle Continental came to my apartment and picked and packed my items into 3 crates: 6000 lbs. My goods had been storied in Seattle since February 2014.
I finally received my furniture to a storage room in La Quinta, CA. I paid 2 guys $2100.00 cash I brought food and give them a tip. I noticed my boxes wardrobe boxes had been torn open at least 4 wardrobe boxes. I could not tell what was missing. I paoid another movign company to rearrange the boxes so I could see what was missing from the Warerobe bocxes there were 14 on the Seattle Continental Packing Slip. After the delivery, I paid a guy to got to my storage to help prepare to move the boxes to my apartment.
Well he could not line the boxes up by number in my local storage. I had packed 14 wardrobe boxes. Finally, we unpacked and loaded my goods onto a truck and delivered from the local storage room. The Continental movers had stole 2 ward boxes 12 and 13 that happen to contain very expensive short and long and evening dresses. Also, there were two large boxes that contained bathroom accessories, which were color coded from my two bathrooms. It was expensive loss for me and I am trying to recover from my move with Continental Moving and Storage. I would not recommend Continental Moving and Storage. I sent emails and made telephone calls and no responses to my telephone calls. Naturally, Seattle, WAS Continental blames the Beverly Hills, CA Continental Moving Services Company. The Beverly Hills blames the Sacramento Continental Moving and Storage Co. I wrote to the Department of Transpiration. I would not refer any one to Continental Moving and Storage Services. I would recommend going to the Department of Transportation first to get a check up on a moving company before picking someone and definitely conduct research. I had used Continental Moving Services on a years early move from Calif to Arizona. Well I have learned my lesson the hard way. First, I will visit their facilities first. I would like $1,000 for my losses.

They did a great job to ensure my belongings arrived in tact and at a reasonable price.

Uses 3rd party, Ocean State Moving and Storage, which charges more and changes contract terms. My moving price increased every time I spoke with someone, I was never able to get answers from anyone and my belongings took 3 weeks to arrive. Handlers were rough with my belongings and furniture was not reassembled as outlined in contract. Very disappointed in the service I received for the price I paid, would not recommend.

Inconsistent information with every interaction
Poor communication
Unfriendly staff
Unsatisfactory service
I hired Continental Moving Services for moving from Connecticut to California in July, 2019 when they called me after they saw my application online which goes to different companies. The person who spoke with me seemed very nice and gave me a quote on my move saying that it included moving, loading, and unloading. I informed him that I would be gone out of the country for about 6-7 weeks and did not have a new address in California at that time and would need to store my stuff in the meantime. He said he would give me one month of storage as complementary and also said he would price match if I found another company that would give me a cheaper rate. I informed him that I was looking for a hassle free move & did not have enough time to talk to different companies as I was taking my medical board exam in 2 weeks and I was assured at that time that the move would be absolutely hassle free. He asked me to make 50% deposit at that time, and the rest at time of delivery. But the nightmare started after that. The next day, I got a call from another person from the moving company who went over few things about the move & basically said that I needed to make additional payment because the first person didn't give me the correct information & charged me less for the initial payment. When I asked him how could I make sure to get my stuff in California around 8/25/19, he asked me to let them know of my new address 2-3 weeks in advance so that they can get my things on time. When the movers came to pick the stuff, they charged me additional *** because my apartment was on second floor. When I contacted the company, the person of initial contact said he would look into it but was not able to have those charges dropped saying it was up to the movers (third party) to drop those charges and he didn't have any authority to do that. I emailed the movers and the company on 8/8/19 with my new address and requested a delivery on 8/25 and they emailed me back asking if that was the first available date and asked me to reply ASAP and there was a line at the bottom with three starts saying that the legal 21 day delivery period started from that date. I emailed them back asking the, which date were they referring to- the date I emailed them (8/8) with the address or 8/25 but never got a reply back. As I was out of the country, I did not have a good phone service but that had also been communicated to them at the time of hire and multiple times after that and despite that they did not email me back.
I called them again on 8/27 after waiting couple of days from the expected date of delivery of 8/25 and was informed that my stuff was still in storage in Connecticut and they had no idea when it will be getting to California as they did not have any trucks coming that way. I had taken a week off to set my house up before starting job on 9/3. I did inform them of the same and asked if there was any way I could get my belongings by 9/2 but they said they did not have any when the next truck was leaving for CA. I finally got a call from them on 9/5 that my stuff was on the way and I informed them that since I had started my job as a physician, I would not be available during the weekends until 5:30 pm and if they could make sure to have my things delivery either after 5:30 pm on weekdays or anytime on weekends, I was informed that they can not decide that and I will have to speak with the movers to figure out the time for delivery. I got call from the movers today (9/10) saying they will deliver my stuff on Thursday (9/12) and when I informed them that I won't be available until 5:30 pm on Thursday, I was told that the movers were informed by the company to just give me a 24 hour notice before delivery and they were not sure if they could hold the delivery until weekend. I informed the movers that I've patients scheduled to be seen and I can not cancel upon them & at this time I've been asked to call them again tomorrow to see what can be done.

Desired Outcome

Delivery at a convenient time I believe someone should be answerable because I feel like they have been dishonest in their business dealing and the above mentioned complaint in detail still has other missing information which I could not write for the lack of space. I know I did sign a lot of paperwork which will have some of these things in fine print but then I would say that the things that I had been informed verbally were not true and I feel they just wanted the money and do not care about the customer at all. I had my medical instruments in my belongings and had to buy new ones because I could not get them in time and the medical instruments come very costly and it was another financial setback for me at the already crucial time of the move and new job.

Continental Moving Services Response • Sep 10, 2020

This is a very old case and had no idea it existed, this was taken care of directly with the customer.
Delivery was made during a pre arranged time that worked for the customer.

Very simple, we specifically asked the representative from Continental if they were a moving company or a broker. Representative said they are a mover - they would be moving us. Well, shortly before the move, we were contacted by another moving company in FL - and we asked what about Continental? We were told by the actual movers that Continental was in fact the broker.

We were in contact all the way .
They were great. Would use this company in the future.

With every move there is always some concern or issue that comes up. The move was from East coast to west and we honestly didn't know where to start. When we called Continental Moving Services, Joe (Reynolds) really helped with everything from start to finished and genuinely cared about our concerns and addressed them accordingly. Thank you.

To all:. These folks did a great job moving us across states, dates and times had to be met and they worked along side of us and got the job done. Job well done!

I was given an estimate of $*** and at the end of everything my bill $*** and they held my items hostage and was rude and unprofessional.
pick up dates 11/3-11/4 show up on the 11/5 at 6pm after loading my stuff and asking for a tip and dinner came in a said I was under charge so it would be $*** more it was 10pm and I had to turn in my keys in the am I had no choice but say ok waited till the 11/12 said would be there later that week then call again and said it wold cost $400 more because the truck could not fit in the spot I was at work when they showed up and demanded money or they will keep everything this is after I paid them I had no choice but to pay in order to get my thing back they held them hostage I even heard the dispatcher say over the phone to the driver dont give them anything until you get all the money the driver said they do this a lot to people and felt bad

Desired Outcome

Refund of $*** the difference between the original estimate $***.continental need to take responsibility for the people they hire we hire them not the other company who, up charge us

Continental Moving Services Response • Dec 09, 2018

First and foremost we are saddened to hear our customer had a bad experience using our services.
Based off the remarks on ***'s account it seems like her father called regarding overages a few days before delivery. Upon review of overage charges we discovered that the initial quote was $*** for 434 cf which consisted of 33 PIECES OF FURNITURE to be moved, upon arrival of our carrier at the pickup Ms. had 70 pieces of furniture and agreed to a flat rate price $*** at her own will and discretion. It is very clear to see why the total amount would go up since the total item count nearly doubled. This is also what she agreed to at pickup with the foreman. Regarding the shuttle charge at delivery, there is nothing we can do regarding the fact that the customer required shuttle services, we have given them a discount on that as well which they agreed to over the phone. The customer was called and told the day prior to delivery of what time delivery eta would be and knew she had to pay the shuttle fee, the customer had a friend there with only the check for the balance and not the additional $400 that was agreed upon for the shuttle service. Now just as all movers do our policy states that the entire balance must be paid prior to unloading and the customers friend did not have the additional funds to pay our driver as she was doing a favor for the customer which is why the customer had to rush back home. Also regarding the fact that our dispatcher said dont unload until we recieve the full balance is fabricated as I have listened to the call and what was told to the driver is "customer stated she will be there within an hour, so please start unloading and she can pay the $400 shuttle fee once she arrives".
Due to the fact that the inventory was doubled and the customer agreed and signed for a flat rate price there is nothing we can unfortunately do especially since we already have issued discounts to them.

Customer Response • Dec 13, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They did not settle anything, the only reason I had my father call was because I was intimidated by them as they were bullying me. After they put all my stuff in the truck I had no choice but to agree with their price. They postponed the pick up date three times! I had to do my walk through the day they came to pick up my stuff. So I couldn't just go with another company because it was already too late. I had to continue to contact them to figure out when they were coming just to pick up my stuff. They finally showed up at 6pm and once my stuff was loaded by 10pm they told me the price was going to be the second price they gave me. I agreed because I had no other choice.. I asked them if there was going to be any other charges from here on out and they told me no. And in the written statement it clearly states that if there is any extra charges I have 30 days after delivery they will send the bill . Then when they showed up They hit me with the 3rd and final charge and said that if I don't pay them the full amount of what was agreed after they loaded my stuff in the truck and the extra charge they thru at me the same day of delivery they wouldn't give me half of my stuff until it was paid. So they were threatening to hold my stuff hostage until the last charge was paid. So I had no choice even tho I showed them in the statement that I had 30 days to pay the final charge. They were very unprofessional the movers had the manager on speaker as he was yelling saying if she doesn't have every penny we will put her stuff in storage until she gets the full amount. In short story continental needs to be accountable for the third party that they hire!!!! I had no idea I was dealing with a third party , they were yelling at me over the phone and being very disrespectful after the fact that they already had my stuff in their storage. Any questions please contact me my phone number is+XXXXXXXXXXX thank you.

Complaint Response Date bumped because: Holiday

Fantastic service. Great communication. Fairly priced.

Our move to Canada from the USA was so well planned and smooth.
Joe (Reynolds) answered all our questions and gave us enough notice in advance to get the 'No parking' stickers. On the day of the move, they came an hour earlier and it did not take them more than 50-55 mins to load the truck. They had blanket covers for our TV stand, recliner, etc. Same was with the delivery of our belongings in Canada. Everyone we spoke to / met were polite, professional and quick.

Thank you, Continental Moving Services, for not having us to worry about anything.
Great job! Cheers!

I hired continental moving services through Joe *** for my move from New Jersey to Toronto . It was a complete house with over 1000 cu ft of personal effects. The entire move was flawless .Form the driver Izett to his helpers every one went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met, Everything arrived safely and on the scheduled date. There were no surprises and my wife were extremely *** with this company, We will definitely use continental moving services again and have no hesitation in recommending their services to others.

Fantastic service. Great price. We had an exceptionally positive experience save except the communication part in terms of keeping us posted on the status.
The goods that we shipped had all sorts of items - fragile glass items, China, fragile musical instruments. All of them came INTACT with NO DAMAGE. That was the best thing about these folks. I had expected about 10% damage and there was NONE.
The folks that they send to load and unload were also exceptional people with fine attitude . They came in and did their job and were flexible and understanding about our concerns and allayed them.

I would actually give them 4.5 stars because the .5 is just for the communication part. I highly recommend this for folks who want to move stuff across countries and will not hesitate to use their services for my next /subsequent moves

This company has been with us over a year now. Excellent broker with good communication. We have no claims placed against them either, which is something to be credited. Very professional overall.
