DO NOT USE CONTOUR MORTGAGE!! I left myself calm down for 2 months after closing on my house to write this review because it probably would have ended up being a bunch of curse words. Nothing about this company is professional, my mortgage broker even left the company after our close because they were making him look bad. Contour requested the same information from myself and the other person buying the house not once but sometimes a second and a third time. Work, social security, pay stubs, bank statements and then over and over again. My closing was then pushed back less than 24 hours before the scheduled closing for no reason given. We did not close for 1 1/2 week after scheduled closing due to them still asking for social security card information and previous employer information. After closing the company said we still owed them money for something but stated that our lawyer had it but had not released it to them. My lawyer has been doing real estate law for about 30 years years, he is no newbe to the whole thing and he released some but not all the money? GOOD JOKE. After reviewing our HUD and being in contact with the mortgage company yet again, we learned the money had not been disclosed to us so we did not have to pay up afterwards.
Every time I called the actual Mortgage company no one was nice to me over the phone and just rushed me off the phone. Good thing my mortgage was sold elsewhere because I will never recommended this company to anyone I know buying a house. AWFUL.

Strangely, people comment negatively when they disagree with something but never comment when they are pleased with something. I chose this Corporation at random to make this point. I am a retired veteran and trying to refinance my home under the VA. I received a notice in the mail to call these folks back and I did. My conversation was quite pleasant with them, contrary to a negative review here. Working with a financial institution for something like this is nowhere near my hobby so I like to keep it as clear and concise as possible. Melony, sorry if I misspelled it, was nothing short of helpful to me with my needs. Anyway, we spoke, she gathered what she needed while I searched the web for their Revdex.com ratings. I started typing here before our conversation even ended. People, no matter who they are, deserve a fair shake and her fair shake is to be mentioned positively instead of giving everyone the same constant negative rhetoric which is so abundant. Take some time out folks. Give credit where its due. I hope my refi goes well. I feel I can trust them already.

Review: My husband and I recieved a call regarding refinanceing our home. We were told by a [redacted] at Contour Mortgage that we could get cash out and make our mortgage payments lower so we could pay off our mortgage soon and save more money each month. That was the middle of June, 2013. We provided all the documents Contour asked for and waited for someone to contact us regarding the assesment fro our property. July **,23013 we got our appraisal. Our home appraised for $375.00.

While waiting we were asked to provide more documets to a [redacted] would call and say I'm sorry but I need last months bank statments again and [redacted] pay stubs for last month again. I told her many times that I gave her all that paper work already, What are you doing with everything I have faxed you?This went on thru the month July, asking for more paperwork, Saying I'm sorry its the underwriters..... Then this past week in August shes asking me for our social security cards again' and our PASSPORTS! She wanted us to sign these papers about my name misspellings and sign a paper about where we lived 27 years ago! My husband and I were very upset by all these requests and called to compain to the man who contacted us in the first place, [redacted]. He assured us that this was common practice these days. He said," the underwriters make you jump thru hoops." Everytime Contour called my stomach would become upset and we would get more angry. I even told [redacted],"forget all this , don't call again. We are finished here. Then 3 days ago at 9:30 at night a [redacted]" called and asked me why we haven't closed yet? He told us not to worry, He would find out just what was going on. The next day I had to call him to find out that the company knew that we were not eligable to refinance because our nieghbor has not payed there mortgage for a year and a half and is in the procces of a short sale. So thier house brought the value of my house down by $75 thousand dollers. [redacted] said our credit score was not high enough. But [redacted] and [redacted] said it was perfect, real high. [redacted] also said he fired [redacted] and is sorry and wold like to help us out if he could." My Husband and I told him never mind don't call here again and we would never have anythingto do with Contour again.Desired Settlement: We would like the fee for the property assesment returned to us. Contour knew in the begining that we didn't qulify and let us go through a property assesment that cost $425.00 dollers. Contour should be held accountable for thier actions and not be alowed to take advantage of people again.
