DANGEROUS PLACE TO SHOP - GOT INJURED DUE TO MISHANDLING OF STORE PREMISES
On 15th of Oct,2016, myself, my husband and two kids decided to take a stroll in to newly opened carpet shop after having fulfilling lunch at California Pizza Kitchen.
When we enter in to store, there was no one there to greet us. We waited 5 min. and someone showed up.
My initial observation and comments to my kids was that please be careful as there are so many of wood planks of various sizes lying around in the store.
In to few minutes in to the store and looking around for carpet options, suddenly pile of laminate fall on my calf and I was speechless for the moment.
The store person did not show any courtesy of giving me the chair and instead he said that this is normal in hardware store.
We set there for a while and decided to go home.
After reaching home, my pain increased and swelling started to happen. We rushed to La Jolla emergency room on Oct,16th morning.
We spent a day at the emergency room and doctor said that there is no fracture but there is muscle injury and hemotoma. (blood clot).
Doctors suggested that we need to come back if the pain does not reduce in few days.
We waited until Oct.19th for pain to reduce but my pain increased to 10 out of 10 on 19th Oct and we rushed to Torry Pines urgent care. The urgent care did ultrasound and blood work and said that this could be more serious nerve injury with possibility of life time of disability.
The nights of 19th and 20th were sleepless until we got the appointment of primary doctor and doctor ruled out the nerve damage and said that this is very severe muscle injury and it will take 4 months to heal.
initially, when I call the store, owner listen to me but now they are not taking my calls are replying to my text messages.
I am not sure what the future would be for my family but I really wanted to share out loud in the community and make customers aware about the situation of the store so you can be best judge.
