While doing some home renovations we found we needed the use of a large dumpster. We called CWSI and told them what the dumpster would be used for. They told us how high to fill it and that the dumpster could handle the weight. They delivered the dumpster to our driveway (not where we asked or expected it to be).Because we followed their instructions closely we had to have the dumpster removed and emptied twice (a service we paid for both times). Upon moving the dumpster the second time they broke our drive down the whole left side.I watched the driver get out of the truck again and again and get back in (clearly he knew it was breaking). We immediately called the company and continued calling when they didn't return calls and didn't show up for 4 appointments to look at what they had done. Appointments we took off from work so someone could be at the house to speak to them. After a month of calls and no show for appointments we are left with a broken driveway that (because we live in CNY) must be fixed before the winter snow.We have been overly accommodating with a company who has taken our money and destroyed our property.
All of Controlled Waste System's Rolloff customers are given a copy ofa service ticket upon a request for service once the container isdelivered. On the back of said service ticket are additional termsand conditions. Under section 2 it clearly states that "CWSI is notresponsible for any damage done to property (including but not limitedto driveways, landscaping, concrete, etc." Additionally, itspecifically gives a weight limit of 6 tons. We have included a copyof this agreement in our reply.The "damage" to said customer's driveway is inconsistent with the.vehicle the delivers the container, and the container itself couldn'thave caused said damage. I have included a photo of the damage.The "damage" is nothing more than normal wear and tear. If you studythe photo, you can clearly see where the driveway is broken up, and itis abundantly obvious by looking at the top of the photo, that thiswas a pre-existing condition. It is clear that the driveway wasalready in a state of disrepair, and by looking at the photo, you cansee where it will continue to degrade above where it is alreadyfalling apart.The customer violated the terms of the contract by overloading therolloff with concrete, and going well over the 6-ton limit by over 2tons for a total of over 8 tons.Should you require any additional information from our office, pleasedon't hesitate to contact me at any time at the above listed numbers.Michael ***CWSI Customer Service

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Unfortunately, they didn't make an offer and treated this complaint with the same disregard for the customer and our property as they did when we contacted them over and over again. We were hoping they would pay to have the damage they created fixed. We didn't want our whole driveway redone but did hope that we wouldn't be forced to pay for their incompetence.
He stated that customers are given a slip saying they aren't responsible for damage AFTER the dumpster has been delivered. That is true. We got that AFTER the dumpster was delivered (and we paid them) and the damage was done.He also stated that the driveway damage is caused by normal ware and tear. We have pictures of the driveway the day they removed the dumpster and it's obvious that they dragged it down the driveway and broke it (you can see the lines in the driveway). They also wouldn't know what the damage looks like because we made 5 appointments to see the driveway that they never came for. He also stated that the dumpster was over the fill line. Also, not true. It was actually well under it because we had it emptied twice. BECAUSE, we were told if it's over the fill line there would be very high fee. We went by what they told us to fill it too based on our material. If they were wrong about the weight than again that is their incompetence because we clearly aren't going to be able to measure our dumpster.This company has been horrible to do business with and we are hopefully that when other people search their name those people will see our complaint on the Revdex.com and it may save someone from the mistake we made. In a time when information is shared so freely it's really amazing that a company doesn't care at all about their customers experiences with them. Until then, we have to continue this with our lawyer and will continue to tell everyone in both our personal and professional dealings not to do business with this company.We do appreciate the Revdex.com efforts in trying to assist us from resolving this without the help of lawyers.
