Convoy Car Wash Reviews (3)

Review: I took my car to Convoy Hand Car Wash on Friday, April 26, 2013 at approximately 8:10 a.m. My car is less than one year old and there was no damage to my car. After my car went through the car wash and I was told it was ready, I got in my car and noticed the driver's side mirror was broken. I went inside and spoke with the owner/manager [redacted]. He came out and looked at the mirror. He then apparently asked his workers if they broke it, and they apparently denied breaking it (this was done in another language so I do not know exactly what was said). Mr. [redacted] then told me his workers did not break it and that it must have been broken when I brought it in. I said it was not broken when I left it to be washed. He strongly implied that I was lying and was very rude, and said there was no way it could have happened at the car wash. He also said that even if they did break it, they were not responsible because they limit their liability and were not responsible for any damage to my car. After going back and forth, I realized that he was not going to pay to repair my mirror, and I left.Desired Settlement: Because I could not drive the car without a driver's side mirror, I immediately took my car to the dealer and had the mirror replaced. It was $167.50 to replace the mirror. I would like Mr. [redacted] to pay me the amount that it cost to replace the mirror.

Business

Response:

I was very polite to [redacted] when she said her mirror had been broken. I informed her that I asked all employees on duty if they had broken the mirror somehow or if they had any knowledge of it and several different employees in different locations of the car wash said they saw it broken before we had washed it. When I politely told [redacted] what they told me she accused them of lying informed me she worked for a prosecuter and was going to have us shut down. I asked her not to call any one on my staff liars as she had no evidence of it being broken at the car wash nor had she seen anyone brake it. I gave her our business card asked her to take it to call me with further information. That was the extent of our conversation. She was speaking in a very rude and unjust manor.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The owner of the carwash was not polite to me when I told him that my mirror was broken at the carwash. He first looked at me like I was incredible, and then spoke to his employees in a language that I did not understand. He told me that they said they did not break it and spoke to me like I was a dumb female. He said it had to have been broken when I brought it in. I mentioned that I was a prosecutor in the context that it would have been illegal for me to bring it in broken and then say that the carwash broke it. I was very offended and shocked that he was calling me a liar, and in essence accusing me of committing fraud. I have never had a business owner speak to me that way. I was almost in tears and was shaking.

He did give me his business car but said that even if they did break it, they would not be liable because of the limits of liability on my receipt. After speaking with my husband, we determined the best way to proceed was to file a complaint with the Revdex.com because we did not believe the owner would take responsibility for the damage.

Looking back, I find it interesting that when my car came through the dryer, about three of the employees were on the driver’s side of the car and they all looked my way. One of them moved my car forward and quickly dried it. As soon as he was finished, he announced ready and rapidly walked away from my car without making eye contact with me.

I do not wish to further pursue any compensation from the carwash because I do not think it is worth the time and frustration to deal with someone who is obviously deceitful and dishonest. I would like the Revdex.com to continue to give them the lowest possible rating in the hopes that others may look up the carwash before taking their car there.

Regards,

Review: On 27 June 2015 about 8:00am, I dropped my child off at their physical therapy appointment and arrived at the car wash about 8:30am. Soon after making full payment for the services still being performed on my vehicle, one of the employees approached me and asked if I had a spare key, which I did not. I soon noticed several employees approaching my vehicle with tools they were going to use to open my door without my permission. I immediately stopped them and asked to speak to the manager. I asked the manager "[redacted]", (who was reluctant to give me his first name, and refused to give me his last name) who would be responsible for fixing any damages which may occur utilizing their method. He replied that I would be responsible. At that point in time, I advised him to call a Lock Smith. He immediately responded with "No" and then implied that it was my fault that the keys were locked in the vehicle despite the fact that his employee drove my vehicle from the starting point of the carwash to the automatic machine wash entry. From the moment that employee drove my car, the employees of the car wash were in possession of my vehicle and the corresponding keys, and should be accountable for anything happening to it until the paid services were completed. [redacted] refused to call the lock smith and said it was my responsibility to call my insurance company for assistance. I asked him for a full refund, which he denied. He was very unhelpful and adamant about no refunds or compensation for the trouble. I called a tow company and they came and unlocked my vehicle. This was a HUGE inconvenience for me, the Doctors office and for my child (age 12) who was waiting for me 1 1/2 hours longer than she should have!Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of $44.00 for the unfinished service provided. I would like a formal apology. I also want to be assured that "[redacted]" and the entire management of Convoy Hand Wash receive adequate customer service training.

As a disabled Veteran, it is avoidable events such as the one explained above that prove to be extremely challenging for someone with my conditions. It causes great pain and exhaustion due to symptoms stemming from conditions I developed during 15 years of military service as a member of the [redacted]. It is my desire that this situation will be taken as seriously as I believe it to be.

Review: On Friday 2/5/2016 I brought my 2008 Chevy Malibu in for a full service detailing. I observed their employee spraying a liquid in the car, and thought it was part of the service. Upon getting the vehicle back, I turned on the Radio only to find it didn't work. I drove around to the check in line and advised their attendant that the Radio didn't work. He played with the dials, spoke to the employee who serviced the vehicle and told me that they 'don't spray' anything in the car. He spoke to the manager other than English, I told the manager I wanted the car repaired. He said how do I know that your radio was working, I said than you are calling me a lair and he said no. I told him I wanted the name and address of his insurance company he told me he has no insurance. He then suggested that I call the owner [redacted]. I called [redacted] on Saturday 2/6/2016 [redacted] took my information and told me her would call back before then end of the business day. I have not heard from him.Desired Settlement: The quote from a dealership to replace the Radio is 750.00. I request that from the dealer, plus the name and address of his insurance company. The warranty on the back on the rain check states that I have to advise them of damage to the vehicle before I leave their property. That was done. I have attempted to contact [redacted], and to no avail.
