After paying cash for a vehicle, six months later I have no title and I have a suspended registration due to inaccurate odometerStay away from this car dealership they are rip-off artists

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowWhen Convoy Motors purchased the car, the car had damages to the driver side front wheel well with curb rash to the front rim Clearly, this damage could have caused the steering rack damage, and Convoy Motors failed to disclose such damage that they repaired The steering rack is located tightly inside of a square tubular housing There is absolutely no way to check for damage on the steering rack without removing nearly half the front end of the car Convoy Motors did agree to pay $500, but I felt this was a bit low considering it cost me $just in labor to have the rack removed, reinstalled and aligned To purchase the rack was $plus $for new rod ends plus tax and shipping That adds up to around $1100! How is $ fair? The fact that Convoy Motors offered to pay a settlement proves that they are responsible for this faulty and unsafe repair I am just expecting better customer service from a dealership Regards, [redacted]

Buyer had vehicle inspected and was present at the time the mechanic had the car lifted. This type of vehicle is often used for track use, we had no way to see if there was any damage to the steering rack if any.
Offered to help in repairs buy paint part of repairs for a
total of $500, this would have covered any air filter missing.
Buyer wanted for us to pay all the repairs, car sold as is where is, so we were not even supposed to offer help in repairs but we still made the effortbuyer kept asking for more than our offer and never accepting the partial payment for his expense.
We now lost interest in trying to find an amicable solution

I am very pleased with the car I bought at Convoy motors. My dealings with the company were by email and telephone. The owner, Silvio Gallone is easy to deal with, attentive to questions, provided pertinent answers, attention to detail and good follow-up. He helped me get a thorough Pre-Purchase Inspection at a San Diego Porsche dealer, transporting the vehicle to and from the dealer. He facilitated shipping it to Colorado at a reasonable price. The laws of the states vary especially in the area of registering salvage vehicles, but Mr. Gallone helped me navigate them, providing all the forms and documents I needed to register the car and obtain a Colorado title. Buying a salvage vehicle is not for everybody, but if you find what you want, I would recommend this company highly.

Review: I purchased a used 2007 Lotus Exige S from Convoy Motors on July 26, 2014.

Convoy Motors failed to inform me of a steering rack repair that was poorly performed and that could have resulted in catastrophic damage if steering was lost at freeway speeds. Convoy Motors told me and made me believe that there was no damage (other than cosmetically) to the car. I was told that the car was put up for alignment, but checked out fine and did not need to be adjusted. I have attempted to contact Convoy Motors numerous times, via phone call, email and text message. [redacted], owner of Convoy Motors, agreed to settle and pay for a portion of the repairs on 12/17/14 via text message, but has not done so and now will not respond to me at all.

Problem 1 – Steering Rack Damage, Unsafe Repair

Problem 2 – Car sold with No Engine Air Intake Filter

Problem 3 – Full Registration Due to DMV 5 months after vehicle purchase

The steering rack was cracked completely in half and rewelded back together with some extremely bad welds. The housing material is aluminum so rewelding would create a Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) that would significantly reduce the overall strength of the entire rack, making it extremely unsafe to drive.

The car was sold to me with NO ENGINE AIR FILTER! Other Lotus owners have claimed that the airbox is normally full of leaves and gravel that have been kicked up from the front tire and collect between the snorkel and air filter. Lotus models are factory equipped with a supercharger, which compresses air and forces it into the engine. That means that for a few months that I was driving around without an air filter, I could have been causing damage to the supercharger and engine at it has been attempting to compress dirty air and gravel. Even though I have not noticed any problems at this moment, it could have caused damage that may appear later on.

DMV informed me that the registration that was paid at the time of purchase only covered the unpaid late fees.Desired Settlement: I feel that the steering components and air filter are a very crucial safety part that should not be overlooked by a company when selling a car.

I completely understand that there should be damages to expect, but the fact that [redacted] at Convoy Motors did not disclose this kind of damage which could have caused a catastrophic accident to myself or others if steering was lost at freeway speeds. Convoy Motors was clearly the responsible party to have authorized this kind of repair since they purchased this car directly from the tow yard.

All cosmetic damage including sagging head liner, broken roof bracket, paint chips, curb rash, floor mats, rusted grills, wheel balance, fluid flushes, oil leaks, A/C System Leak, missing hub caps, missing Lotus Emblems, missing NACA louver ducts and cross-threaded underbody bolts have been taken care of at my expense.

I would like to have Convoy Motors pay for the Steering Rack repair and the Air Filter. The total repair ticket comes out to $1181.46

Review: I recently purchased a used car from [redacted] at Convoy Motors. We agreed certain repairs would be handled by [redacted] for the agreed upon purchase price. He performed several of the repairs, but has not taken care of the most important one, which is installation of a new shifter assembly. This was agreed to verbally and via email on several ocassions. His last email, dated 4/24/13, stated he was just awaiting the part from Ebay and that he would install it asap. That was almost a month ago and he has since stoped responding to my email inquiries.Desired Settlement: I would like [redacted] to stand by his word and effect the repair he promised, installation of a new shifter assembly.

Response:

Ill be more than happy to have the shifter installed

Review: We purchased a 2009 [redacted] on February 17, 2015. Part of the contract was that the owner of this business furnish us with a navigation disc for this car, as well as pay for one-half of a key from a [redacted] dealer. We have contacted the owner of this business by telephone and by text (upon his request) numerous times (in excess of 40 times), since February 17, 2015. The request for us to text him, rather than telephone him has resulted in no response. By telephone, the owner states that he is going to take care of this, and yet to date we have not received a new navigation disc for the car, or been reimbursed for one-half of the cost of a new key.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive payment of $520.00 from the owner, covering the reimbursement of $171.00 for the key, for which the owner has received a copy of the invoice, and $350.00 for a new navigation disc , that we will purchase ourselves, at a local [redacted] dealer.
