Cook's Landscape Reviews (1)

Damaged my plants and grass by disregarding property markers on 2 occasions. Requested estimate to settle - now refuses to pay. On or about May 21, 2015 Cook's Landscaping began mowing the lawn for [redacted]. This property adjoins mine. My own landscaper had just completed two large flower beds and planting approx. 30 shrubs and plants. There are property markers clearly visible, yet Cook's employees went some 12 feet beyond the marker into my property and cut the new grass down to almost bare dirt. As a result I put "Caution" tape along the property line and around the newly planted schrubs. Subsequently, Cook's returned to mow again and now the homeowner, [redacted], RE/"Flipper" was available to discuss the issues. He instructed Cook's men not to mow beyond the marker. He further assured me, it would not happen again. He also asked me to remove the caution tape, stating it would not be necessary since Cook's men have been told not to mow beyond the markers. As a result of these assurances, I took the tape down. On or about the second week of July, Cook's Landscaping returned to mow at #[redacted]. They proceeded to cut down plants and use weed wackers to close to new schrubs causing damage. Mr. [redacted] Cook responded that day in person and attempted to minimize damage done by his employees but related to send him an estimate from our landscaper and he would pay for the damage. I mailed the estimate to his address that he gave us and it was returned "Undeliverable" by the [redacted]. I then contacted him via email and sent the estimate again. I waited 10 business days with no response. I called Mr. Cook and he related he is requesting 3 more estimates and he will decide whether he will pay. The estimate was from the landscaper who just completed the work for me and was under warranty. Mr. [redacted] Cook needs to honor the agreement and pay the Estimated $136 which includes the taxes. Desired SettlementMr. Cook needs to honor his agreement to pay for the damage his employees have done to my property. I request that he pay the $136 as detailed in the estimate provided by the landscaper who performed the work and with whom I have a warranty.Business Response Contact Name and Title: Kevin Cook OwnerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]Mr. and Mrs.[redacted],I hope all is well. Responding to your Revdex.com complaint is going to be the same as our phone conversation and email correspondence in the recent past. The quote for the damage that has allegedly occurred is exaggerated and does not simply include the damage that the pictures and the damage discussed that allegedly occurred. My response to you remains the same. I am not refusing to come to an agreement by any means. However, we will be unable to come to an agreement based off of one estimate. please acquire two more estimates, submit them to me via email which you have previously done and im positive we can come to an agreement. you can also call me if that is easier. please let it be noted that I have traveled to the[redacted] residence at the time the alleged damage occurred to discuss same and reaching an agreement was not accomplished due to[redacted]'s distasteful choice of words toward myself and employees. As a business professional terminating our encounter was needed that day. The[redacted]'s contacted me again some months later with the same tone requesting my address and I gave them the same one listed above. some weeks later the[redacted]'s called again stating the mail did not go through, I then advised my email. The email was received within 20 minutes, as a result I contacted the[redacted]'s back to advise them that this quote is exaggerated and includes work that was not discussed while I was on scene. I requested 2 more quotes and the[redacted]'s disagreed resulting in this Revdex.com complaint.pictures of said damage are on file at my office to support my position. In conclusion I am willing to work with the[redacted]'s and come to an agreement however their distasteful choice of words on a regular basis toward myself prevents us from having a cordial conversation in the matter. Cooks Landscape has been in business for more than 6 years and has not accumulated the slightest complaint in such category. This is not from being perfect nor do we profess to be. it is because we are punctual with communication, understanding, and realistic when handling rare disagreements.Kevin CookReference Revdex.com CASE#: [redacted]
