Cook's Professional Cleaners Reviews (2)

Review: About 4 months I took my white blanket that I recently purchased from [redacted], to cook's clean along w/my other laundry. I noticed a large oil/greasy stain on my white blanket. I went next door to the cleaners and told the male attendant. He came and looked at my blanket and immediately put an out of order note on that machine and ASSURED me of my blanket being cleaned of that large spot OR A REIMBURSEMENT OF MY BLANKET. (He also told me that the owners have had to reimburse others before for situations like mine) I left my name and phone number and was told that one of the owners ([redacted]) would be calling me. HE NEVER DID! A couple of days later I called and the same male attendant told me that they had to keep my blanket a little longer to pretreat and soak it . The same male attendant called a few days later for me to pick up my blanket and I did. A couple of months later I went to the SAME OWNED LAUNDRYMAT, but in a different city ([redacted]), and washed my white blanket again. Once again ANOTHER STAIN! I told the attendant ([redacted]), whom came over AND PUT HER NOSE ON MY BLANKET AND SMELLED IT (extremely unprofessional) and preceded to tell me that it was the way I washed it! (I washed my blanket the SAME WAY I DID THE FIRST TIME I BROUGHT IT TO THIS CLEANER).....she then told me to TAKE MY WET BLANKET W/ME and she would tell the owner mike/michael to call me . I told her that I am not going to take a wet blanket w/a huge oil/greasy stain on it that OBVIOUSLY came from that company's machine home w/me. I told her I wanted [redacted] to see it AGAIN. After approximately 1 week I DID NOT GET A CALL FROM MICHAEL (AGAIN), and when I called and spoke to [redacted] she said "michael DOESN'T THINK that stain came from his machine". Well michael WAS NOT THERE THAT DAY TO SEE IT!!!! I have spoken to a couple of people that know of this company and the owners and I am extremely uncomfortable with the way I HAVE BEEN TREATED. As a manager, supervisor, general manager, and owner of a business it is proper to CALL a customer that has an issue with your company (ESPECIALLY WHEN IT HAPPENS A SECOND TIME). This is a VERY TINY TOWN/CITY and I have been told from a few retired professors and their wives that SOME PEOPLE RUN THEIR BUSINESS THE WAY THEY WANT because they can get away with that. It is such a shame that SOME BUSINESS OWNERS has stooped so low to DO RIGHT BY THEIR REGULAR AND NATIVE CUSTOMERS BUT NOT DO RIGHT BY OTHERS. You treat ALL CUSTOMERS the same!!!!! But we all know what happens when people are not honest and will not do the right thing!Desired Settlement: cannot type what my true desired outcome is.

Response:

The customer after washing and drying her blanket in the laundry mat brought in in to complain about a brown spot on her blanket. My employee put the machines out of order and told her that they would have me look at it. After looking at the blanket I determined that it looked like it was just very dirty. I cleaned the blanket and it looked fine. We also checked the machines to make sure there was no dirt in the washer and dryer with rags which were clean when finished. The same customer went to another one of our stores and had the same complaint about the washer. She was very rude and loud to my workers. [redacted] smelled the blanket because she could smell a very strong bleach odor. After a long ordeal with the customer she said she would have me look at it. I looked at the garment and determined she had used way too much bleach. The brown was from the blanket not being washed properly. I instructed my employee to call her back and tell her she had used too much bleach. She tried calling her several times but there was no answer. About a week later a previous employee brought the blanket in and said her mother had washed her blanket in our laundry mat and it had spots. I told her I would wash it again but she was using bleach incorrectly. I also told her that the blanket probably had an optical brightner in it and she should not be using bleach because that would turn it gray or a brownish color. I cleaned it once again and I thought it looked fine. That is the last I have heard until this complaint.Sincerely,[redacted] , Manager

Review: After several years and several thousands of dollars spent on dry cleaning at Cooks, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. Extremely rude and arrogant customer service from ownership with myself and spouse over six under-pressed suit jackets. Ownership said they were rushed to get the garments done without sufficient time. The suit jackets were there for more than three weeks! Furthermore when the unsatisfactory garments were returned back to the dry cleaner for pressing, the owner rudely haggled my spouse in regards to the situation to the point where I had to call the owner myself and let him know that this behavior is unacceptable. Upon picking up the the "re-do," I was forced to repay the pressing fees "or else" the owner would come down to the business and the police would be called. A staff member showed concern and understanding about why I was repaying for something that wasn't done right the first time. He also made me aware that the owner the day before bragged about recharging me and getting law enforcement involved if I failed to comply.Desired Settlement: A refund of the $23.00 repressing fee on the "re-do" due to the job already paid for the first time with unsatisfactory completion.

I also do not want to hear from this business or be harassed whatsoever.

In response to the complaint I would like to first state that I have had other customers tell me in the past as well as a worker that the person has been very rude prior to this incident. I was told that there was a complaint with a customer and they would like to speak to management about a problem. I was told he would be in anywhere from 10-12 that day. Around 11:45 when the jackets were brought back I looked at the jackets and tried to explain what looked like jackets that were getting old but I was cut off and told I would have to talk to the owner that he wasn't the owner of the jackets. I noticed that when the jackets were brought back they were not on the hangers that we use. Soon after I received a phone call from the owner of the garments and he proceeded to tell me that he didn't appreciate how I talked to his spouse and that I needed to train my employees the correct procedures and have better customer service and we wouldn't have this problem anymore and hung up on me. I told my employees to check the garments in but charge because it looked like the garments had been worn. The garments had been there for three weeks but he had asked for them the next day so they had been cleaned and pressed and been hanging on the conveyor for that whole time. The following day I received a phone call that he was in the cleaners yelling and screaming about having to pay for his clothes and he was going to call his attorney and call the police if he didn't give him his clothes free of charge. I told my employee that I would be there in about 2 to 3 minutes and that I would be happy to call the police for him when I got there. He proceed to pay his bill and got out of there before I got there. He proceeded to spin his wheels out of the parking lot as I arrived and have not heard from him since.Thank you!Michael TurkCooks Clean Center

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Several Points:**In regards to the garments being old, all of these suits were purchased between in the Fall of 2014 from [redacted] and [redacted]. I'd be happy to prove receipts of these transaction to show that their age is not "old."**In regards to a garment being old or new..Wrinkles are wrinkles and can be pressed regardless of age.**Ownership has still not clarified or admitted in his response to the Revdex.com that I was charged originally for a faulty pressing job, and then recharged again up the "re-do."

**Ownership has clearly admitted to speaking to "other customers" about me. Unprofessional behavior admitted by the ownership.**Ownership has clearly admitted to threatening the involvement of police.**These statements provided by ownership warrant a refund in this unethical behavior.
