I bought my home in January 2019 and the AC unit was serviced and fixed. 6 months later in June it was cycling on and off again and out of Freon. I contacted Home shield and they sent out LJR industries inc. to fix. The tech did not preform any leak test and said the leak was in the service valve which he replaced. Note the tech who came and fixed it during the sale of the house did the same thing replaced service valve. After refilling the system he did no additional test's for leaks. Now 3 months later all the Freon has leaked out and its not working again. Home shield has a 60 day cut off so they say I'm out a luck. Called LJR and they told me I should have contacted them sooner, but how could I it took three months to leak out? They would not honor there job and come back out to fix it right. I think what they did was unethical and perhaps illegal, I will be contacting the EPA to find out whats up, because from what Iv'e read they are supposed to by law preform a leak test. What a scam these guys and Home shield have going on,,,, do yourself a favor and use a reputable company, these guys a rip offs.

We received your complaint and understand your frustration. Please allow us to communicate what we show happened on the day of repairs. Our company works as HVAC sub contractors for American Home Shield Home Warranty. We are contractual obligated by American Home Shield to inform them on any work needed or provided to their customers. We received your work order request by this home warranty on 6/7/2019 for an air conditioner that was not working correctly. We sent out our technician to diagnosis and repair on 6/11/2019. At the time of service, our technician found the outdoor condenser was low on refrigerant. He then performed a simple leak test, which involves the tech adding a liquid solution onto the most common areas from which condensers usually leak from. This test showed refrigerant leaking from the low side service valve. The technician then proceeded to replace the low side service valve. After the valve was replaced, the technician would of had to vacuum pump the system which takes all air and moisture out of the line set and will hold the correct pressures for this system to stabilize. If there was another leak, the vacuum would not have micron down and stabilize pressure. Since the vacuum pump held the correct pressure, the tech proceeded to add in the remaining refrigerant ( 4 lbs.) to have this unit cooling correctly again. Once all repairs were made, the air conditioner was working as designed. In regards to the repair made by another contractor prior to you buying the home. Condenser units do have more than one valve on their units. Just to name a few, there is the high side service valve, low side service valve, king valve, thermal expansion valve, schrader core valve. It is very likely this other company did replace a service valve, but it was not the same valve as we replaced. On 9/19/19 we received a call from you stating your air conditioner is no longer blowing cold air and you would like our company to come back out and fix this issue. We have no issue or problem going back out to your home to diagnose and/or repair or replace your air conditioner. However, since you are a customer of American Home Shield, we advised to you that the home warranty would need to be contacted first, since it is our contractual obligation, to let them know we will be returning to your home. It was at this time, you advised that if you had to have the home warranty involved, they would charge you an additional service fee, since your claim is beyond the limited parts and labor warranty,or recall, period of 60 days with American Home Shield. Our company also has a limited parts and labor warranty of 90 days, if the repairs were done on retail without the home warranty. Unfortunately, even if you had used us on retail, 100 days has past since we were last at your home till the day you had called and said your unit was no longer working. As mentioned before, our company does not have any issue returning to your home to repair or replace the air conditioner as needed. Unfortunately, we are unable to return or touch your unit without first having the authorization from your home warranty. Our recommendation is to contact your home warranty directly as our company is unable to waive this service fee for them. You should be able to speak with a claims resolution manager who would then have the ability to waive a new service fee and the full cost of refrigerant, if needed, for our company or a new company to come back out and look at your unit. That's interesting because Home Sheild says you refused to come back out to my house, and since you're receptionist hung up on me I will assume that's true. Furthermore the new company they did send out said only one of the valve was changed out the other one was old but not leaking and he as well confirmed low freon level and the need for leak detection. So the same valve was changed out and I doubt a brand new vavle would go bad as you're receptionist suggested. I still call foul.

The company that was just sent out has yet to do the work but they did tell me that the service valves were not leaking. And the leak is somewhere else in the system which means the problem was not fixed all the Freon Freon leaked out which cost me $200. And I still want a refund on the $200 for the Freon that they put in knowing that it was just going to leak right back out .
