Having just moved to the cool springs area we took our then year old son to have wax cleared from his ears, which he had to have done every months or soAt our regular doctor this took about mins and cost about $The nurse came in and took him down the hall and gave him a full nasal ex ray without even letting us know she was going to do itAfter a quick look at the ex ray the doctor started recommend all these additional treatments, but could never get the wax out of his earsWhen then find out that he billed our insurance company over $mostly for the ex rayInsurance paid half but the doctor insisted we needed to pay the restI called the office well over times looking for and explanation and requested to talk to the doctorHe refused to call us backI just wanted to know why they thought they could give an year boy an ex ray without parent consent It's been over years and he still will not call me back The bill is now in collections and I am being harassed by their peopleNo one can provide me with any recordsI'd be happy to settle, but I need to see the reasoning behind the procedure when he simply went in for ear wax removal

Having just moved to the cool springs area we took our then 11 year old son to have wax cleared from his ears, which he had to have done every 6 months or so. At our regular doctor this took about 15 mins and cost about $50. The nurse came in and took him down the hall and gave him a full nasal ex ray without even letting us know she was going to do it. After a quick look at the ex ray the doctor started recommend all these additional treatments, but could never get the wax out of his ears. When then find out that he billed our insurance company over $800 mostly for the ex ray. Insurance paid half but the doctor insisted we needed to pay the rest. I called the office well over 5 times looking for and explanation and requested to talk to the doctor. He refused to call us back. I just wanted to know why they thought they could give an 11 year boy an ex ray without parent consent. It's been over 2 years and he still will not call me back. The bill is now in collections and I am being harassed by their people. No one can provide me with any records. I'd be happy to settle, but I need to see the reasoning behind the procedure when he simply went in for ear wax removal.
