My experience with Dr. *** was extremely disappointing. Dr. *** was selected because she allegedly has advanced training in periodontics. I was examined by Dr. *** on September 24, 2019. I later scheduled an appointment to have periodontal treatment (right side) performed on October 15, 2019. My treatment experience was with a hygienist who was unable to treat two specific areas because she said the x-rays I provided from my general dentist were not good. Therefore, she could not deal with my concerns. The hygienist could not offer any solutions and Dr. *** was not available to answer my problems. It was also stated that my x-rays were taken from an older version machine than theirs. They never offered to do their own x-rays. However, she had no problem charging $120.00 for an exam and $630.00 for treatment which was not performed. I have never experienced a dentist who refused to take x-rays but used them as an excuse for not doing their job. Many places give free x-rays and exams.
After my visit, I wrote a letter dated November 2, 2019 (which is attached) to Dr. *** expressing my dissatisfaction with the hygienist and the fact that I was paying money for a higher level of treatment which was not given. Dr. *** responded via telephone on November 12, 2019. Instead of addressing my problem and how she could satisfy the problem, Dr. *** expressed concern about her reputation and not my dental health. I expected her to offer to take her own x-rays and oversee the procedures. Instead, she offered me to see another part-time hygienist who only works on Fridays. The response to my letter was very disappointing, irresponsible, arrogant, dismissive, apathetic and insulting. She never asked how my complaint could be resolved. Ridgeway was more interested in defending the hygienist who obviously was not able to answer questions but blamed x-rays. Dr. *** doubled down and said that I should provide better x-rays the next time. Blaming the patient for x-rays and never entering the room during my visit was extremely discouraging and traumatizing.
